Today I link up to Bonnie Hunter’s final linky for Easy Street. It doesn’t close until Sunday, but I have too much going on this weekend to do much more work on the quilt.
I just had to go ahead and put the first corner together. I LOVE this quilt! I am so happy I joined in! There are three of the Unit A blocks and one Unit B block, along with the setting triangles. This part is totally sewn together.
I have also discovered I am thrilled with the way Bonnie organized this mystery. If I had the blocks finished, then still had to do the setting triangles, I might never get them done. This way the setting triangles are already finished and it makes it seem so much easier!
The rest of the blocks are in various stages on my cutting table.
I am working on them in units….kind of making each block into a 9-patch instead of a 25-patch if that makes sense. You can see green and gray/white four-patch units from Block B right above the magnetic pincushion. There are four of those in each of the nine blocks. Similarly, the four-patch unit in Block A has a birds in the air unit, a gray/white four-patch unit and two solid white squares.
I will keep posting progress as I work on it!
Meanwhile, stroll on over to Bonnie’s and check out the other incredible Easy Street quilts! I love all the colors everyone has used!
I love this! The solid background lets the other colors shine.
Looks great ….making me want to get to finishing mine now!
You have made me a fan of the solid background! It looks really rich and clean! Great job! I, too, love the way Bonnie organized the clues. It helped me get it finished easily! Best wishes!
Thank you all for visiting! I have decided I love the solid background also, and am really glad my stash supply made me do it this way!
Love the plain background – it gives the quilt a very modern look.
