Now that the family has all left, I had time to sew between the batches of laundry on Saturday. Dinner was Leftover Turkey, stuffing, potato, veggie and gravy casserole that can only be made this time of year. YUMM, Sunday Dinner was already to eat after Church For my Design wall I have 68 of the 192 4-patches made for Bonnie Hunter's "Easy Street" Mystery. Part 1 posted on Friday
HERE. Only 124 left to make. Gotta find some more B/W fabrics that are more white than black. I have a 4 yd bolt of the gray (dated 2006) so I won't run out of the background this time. Waiting for Friday to see what we get to make next. Bonnie promised "No Strings" in this Mystery, doing the Happy Dance! Bonnie has a link-up, starting this Monday
HERE.
And my 2nd Version of the Mystery by E-mail "Jack of Hearts" is ready to be sewn into rows. This version will have the 2.5" squares pieced border all around and one more 3"-4" border to complete it. The background fabric was one I ran out of so it has two backgrounds. It doesn't' show much I think this setting shows the "hearts" more. The main fabric is from "In the Beginning" by Jason Yenter. The dark is a purple print. Colors aren't true here.

It's the Last Monday in November in Blogland!
I have been having fun this morning seeing all the people who are doing Bonnie's mystery. This is my first year (I don't usually like mysteries or small pieces) and I am behind already but hope to catch up before Friday.
ReplyDeleteHappy Anniversary, that's quite a milestone. Your blocks look great and that other mystery must have been a good one if this is your second version of it.
ReplyDeleteHappy Anniversary!
ReplyDeleteYour blocks all look great. It's a busy day in Blogland today!
Good progress on Bonnie's mystery, Mary.
ReplyDeleteWish I had some black on white prints I could send you, but that isn't something you find in my stash.
Sounds like Sunday dinner was "Easy Street", too. : )
I started the Easy Street mystery quilt too. I finished my 4 patches last night. Will you keep her colors or are you planning another combination?

You are ahead of me on Easy Street, but I'm joining in too. Hope to get the 4 patches done by next Friday too.
ReplyDeleteI'm still searching for enough lime green and blues -- don't want to buy any new stuff, we'll see. This should be fun.
Nice 'Easy Street' blocks! I'm going to try it too, but am still deciding on colors. I don't have any of Bonnie's colors so will have to come up with an alternate. I know my 'black on white' will be navy on white, but I can't decide on what to use for her 'gray' which is putting me behind.
ReplyDeleteI am really liking that black dot with the scribbles on it! You have wonderful fabrics. :)
ReplyDeleteYou are making good headway on the mystery!
ReplyDeleteLovely looking 4-patches. Looking forward to step 2!
ReplyDeleteI'd have *never* guessed that was dark purple -- which I'd totally be head over heels in adoration with! LOL! Glad you're doing the Easy Street mystery ... it will be fun to see your take on it! :)
ReplyDeleteDid you ever do or finish the Orca Bay -- string quilt from Bonnie Hunter?
