Papertry Ink Blog Hop
Hello! Yesterday I was browsing around and learned of this Papertrey Blog happening today. I love sewing, crocheting and paper crafting. I do way more paper crafting than anything else but whenever I have the chance to combine these different crafts I jump at it. For this Felt & fabric Wraps Blog Hop I started by experimenting/playing with stamps, Staz On ink and fabric. I really like how this mendhi medallion turned out...I thought that it might make a cute tag, from that point the project kind of took a life of its on. In experimenting I tried ironing on interfacing and really like the effect. Only the tag has interfacing. You may be able to appreciate the difference between the tag and the fabric wrapped around the box.
I really love those little pouches from the inspiration photo up top. Aren't those little pouches in the middle row cute? I wanted to give it a shot so here below is my take on it. I was planning on just keeping it black but it just looked a little too plain so I made a bigger circle in the black and white plaid pattern fabric and stitched all the way around way better I thought. Surprisingly I was able to get a needle with ribbon through the fabric to enclose the little pouch...it took some wiggling but it worked. I am not submitting the pouch to the hop but it was fun to make and I wanted to share it with you guys. I can just picture pouches like this ones in solids and pattern fabric peeking out...so cute!
More on how here
Thanks for stopping by!

ReplyDeleteGreat little tag with the Mendhi medallion. I'm curious as to what kind of fabric you used? It doesn't quite look like a muslin or burlap. You little pouch too is just adorable with the plaid fringe own top!

What a great tag. Love that Mehndi on fabric. You are brave to subject your PTI stamps to Stazon. Your pouch is cute, too. And, love your cards for Retro Sketches--especially the one with the cute owl. Took a bit of a look around--you have a lovely blog--so many wonderful creations.
