The first year they were Little Red Riding Hood and the "Little" Bad Wolf (I looked everywhere and can't find these pictures) Ugh!
The next year they were Dorothy and a Munchkin
And last year they were Wendy and Peter Pan
This year we went vintage, clown vintage to be exact!. I was looking through some of my old dance costumes to find something for my daughter and at the bottom of the bin were two wonderful memories that had been forgotten. My mom made my brother and I matching clown costumes when I was around 5. I loved them then and I love them NOW!
Well the kids saw them and I thought, 'they are never even going to consider these for their costumes, they are make out of early 80's fabric, possibly late 70's fabric that was just saved til the 80's.'
They took one look at them and screamed in
So do you think their kids will be fighting over the vintage clown costumes 30 years from now?
Great costumes, great pictures and an even better story! :)
ReplyDeleteI love all of their costumes! I think that I remember that fabric from back in the day! The Wizard of Oz ones are inspired!! I got to remember that one for when I have babies!
ReplyDeleteThanks Faith!
ReplyDeleteIsn't it funny how I had no idea what we were going to do for costumes and these just happen to be in the right spot at the right time!
Janae,
ReplyDeleteLOL, got to love old vintage fabric! The Wizard of Oz was a favorite for me. My youngest hair is just too perfect for Munchkin hair!
They are so cute! I love that you've coordinated them every year. The munchkin is adorable--the hair and lollipop.
ReplyDeleteLove it!! My little guy will be wearing the dinosaur costume my sister in law made for my nephew 20 years ago. Yeah for bringing back the old costumes!
ReplyDeleteStopping by from tatertots and jello. I adore those costumes! we just had a vintage inspired halloween party at our house, those costumes would have fit in perfectly! I would love for you to stop by and take a look:
