PTI Make It Monday #70

Hello Friends!  This week I’m trying something new.  New technique, and new idea.  I wanted to play along with Papertrey Ink ‘s Make It Monday this week because 1. Our summer break just started 2. I want to make a few cards just for fun  3. I love fabric and stamping so shouldn’t I combine them?! and 4. This looked like a really cool and challenging technique.  :)  You can read more about this week’s fun right here on Nichole’s blog.  Erin did a great job in the video and I was confident enough to give Puffy Fabric Accents a try.

make it monday

I used fabric from my Fig Tree Quilts Strawberry Fields stash.  I bought a few fat quarters last summer  to make some pincushions but that hasn’t happened yet so I decided it would make cute teapots.  Even though it is hard to tell in the photo, the teapot lid is cream fabric while the body is red floral.   I die cut the Tea for Two teapot and used my Linen Impression Plate across the front Kraft panel.  I stamped the sentiment in Dark Chocolate ink and sponged the edges with Fresh Snow ink.  After looking at the photos, maybe I should have added some flourishes around the teapot. Well, maybe next time. The base of my card is also Classic Kraft cardstock with Dark Chocolate stamping and Fresh Snow inked edges. I had a ball working on this card.  It was freeing to just play with my stuff for a little while.  I didn’t have a definite plan and I really enjoyed it.  I hope your days are going well.  We are savoring the peaceful summer days and getting organized before all the craziness begins.  Alex is a senior and there will be so much going on once band begins.  I hope to post more often.  Have a wonderful day and thank you for stopping by.
