Papertrey March Blog Hop Challenge

March 25, 2012

Yes I finished the card just in time for Papertrey Ink’s March Blog Hop Challenge, CAS-ual Friday Challenge AND Moxie Fab’s Paper Scrap Challenge. Talk about productive!  For this month’s inspiration photo from PTI, I wanted to do something bright and cheerful with the given colors of aqua & yellow.

I remember the stripes and the dots from the inspiration image and so I briefly sketched out the card for the challenge.  I’m glad the card turned out the way I wanted it to be!

Yup, what I envisioned the card to be!

Happy Birthday - stars

I basically used 2 long stripes of colored cardstock found from my scrap box.  Since the cards I make are 1/2 inch smaller than normal cards, I end up with long strips of cardstock.  I adhered the paper in alternating color on some scrap printer paper and trimmed the extra pieces for my “confetti” which was made with some eyelet punches.

Happy Birthday - stars

Used: Papertrey Ink (Upper case Alphabet dies, Smokey Shadow cardstock, Aqua Mist cardstock, Summer Sunrise cardstock, Smokey Shadow ink, Birthday Basics stamp set) |  Stampin’ Up (Cool Caribbean ink, Summer Sun ink, Dimensionals) | Market Street Stamps (Blast Off! stamp set) | Copic (Y06) | Others (rinestones – white & blue)
