Cracking on with the Christmas cards!!!

Hi there,

This is my second post of the day so please don't miss my earlier post and do please feel free to leave me a comment on either one of them.

I was lucky enough to be the winner of last weeks prize over on I Love Pro Markers (see the blog here) with my motorcycle card, and this week's competition is a doozie. Challenge #32 features a sketch and optional twist to "RIP IT UP". Well, my regular readers will know that I struggled to keep up with my Christmas cards in 2009 and vowed to do better this year. It's now September and I reckon I'm up around 60 - which is about 40 short, based on last year AND my pal Dorothy has asked me to make her some too - Hmmmm. NO BRAINER then, this challenge card pretty much HAD to be a Christmas card!!! A couple of people have recently used THE most adorable bear and, looking through my collection of stamped images I found that (huzzah!) I had one too! I raced off to my dining room, which is where my pro markers are currently residing and started colouring. I would have posted this hours ago but my stickles simply refused to blooming well dry - what IS that all about?!?!?! Anyhoo, I sort of went with the twist but not strictly but the sketch is there - I used some Christmas papers that I've had for an absolute age which I believe will either have come with Card Making and Paper Craft or Beautiful Cards. I took some white card and my fiskars scallop punch and then coloured the piece using Brilliance Rocket Red. I ran a piece of COREDINATIONS through my die cutter inside one of the Papermania Christmas embossing folders and then sanded to reveal the inner core. I also stamped my Papermania sentiment, cut out a circle then lightly coloured using the Rocket Red again. Once my stickles had FINALLY dried I die cut my image in to a scalloped oval and then edged using gold ink. I used a Tim Holtz distressing tool on the parcel panel and the Coredinations panel and then assembled my card - I used two other stamps from the Papermania set to embellish both the envelope and insert too. I hope you like it.

That's a pretty hefty amount of xmas cards....about twice the amount I make...no wonder you need to get a move on.
I find that problem with Stickles as well....so I always do any cutting out before stickling! A lovely card.

Thanks for your comment over on my blog, as always...it's very much appreciated and I know exactly which Costco papers you mean. They are gorgeous.
