Papertrey Ink January 2012 Blog Hop

Time once again for a PTI blog hop.

This month, in honor of the new year, we are challenging you to pick your
favorite project from 2011 and share it with al of us! To take it a step
further, you are also challenged to create a second card that is inspired by
the favorite project you select. Your new version of an old favorite could
carry over the color scheme, the layout or the stamp sets. We look forward
to seeing your best creations from 2011 as well as one of your first projects
for 2012!

Okay, I didn't quite pick my favorite project from last year, but I did pick my second favorite. (One, because it was made with PTI to begin with and two, because it was easier for me to come up with a way to recreate it.)

My original project was this card from May.

I recreated it as a valentine.

I used hibiscus burst bitty dots paper and ribbon, with dark chocolate ink, hibiscus burst ink stamped off each time before putting it on the grid, and scarlet jewel accents. My flower is spritzed with coffee shop glimmer mist and the heart gems are sparklets from Kaisercraft. The sentiment is from Heart Prints. The pin was made with beads I had stashed in my bead box. Quite a fun layout!

Hi Emily! I love stamping my own backgrounds-what an amazing job you did of that here on both cards! I think my favorite is the Valentine version-love the pink and brown combo! Thanks for stopping by my blog :-)
