Fitting Florets Snowflake Window

Last night my son hosted his annual pumpkin carving party. It involved lots of pumpkin goo, pizza, and cousins enjoying seeing each other. The pumpkins ranged from masterpieces to Charlie Brown’s (my style).

Today’s card is a birthday card featuring both a flocked vellum snowflake and the pretty Fitting Florets Designer Paper flowers. The card is part of the DOstamperSTARS #DOswts397 Blog Hop which is featuring the Fitting Florets Collection.

The greetings are from the Framed Florets stamp set and are stamped with Night of Navy ink.

It was a bit tricky cutting the vellum so that it could be glued into the die cut frame. To do this I ended up adhering the frame over the snowflake and then using a scissor to cut the snowflake to fit the frame.

Paper Dimensions:

  • Starry Sky Base 7″ x 5 1/2″ scored at 4 1/4″
  • Fitting Florets DSP 2 1/2″ x 5 1/4″
  • Fitting Florets fussy cut flower
  • Basic White Liner 5 1/4″ x 4″
  • Basic White Die cut frame
  • Basic White 3/8″ x 1 5/8″
  • Starry Sky 1/2″ x 1 7/8″
  • Snowflake Specialty Vellum snowflake

An oval was die cut from the front of the card base after the designer paper was adhered. Use the same die that cut the frame from the Framed Florets Die set. Position it so that less than half of the oval is removed. The flowers and greeting will cover the corners and add support.

The Fitting Florets Collection will be available to order starting November 1. The Framed Florets stamp set and Dies are going to be in the January to June Mini Catalog but the Framed & Festive stamp set, Fitting Florets DSP and the Gold Adhesive Backed Swirls are only available for a limited time.
