Stamping Sunday Blog Hop - Colour Crush

Hello and welcome,

It's Stamping 2nd Sunday latest blog hop for May, hosted by Sara Levin and for this month the design team will be showcasing the theme 'Colour Crush' in our projects. The list of participants will be at the end of this blog.

Stampin' Up! 2022 - 2024 new In Colors are amazing and so fresh! The colors are Sweet Sorbet, Parakeet Party, Tahitian Tide, Starry Sky and Orchid Oasis. They come in a range of coordinating products Cardstock, Ink, Designer Series Paper, Stampin' Blends just to name a few and they are available in my online store. Do you have a favourite? I love them all, but if I had to choose it would be Orchid Oasis.

Today's two cards are using the Happiness Abounds Bundle which is available now in the Stampin' Up! 2022-2023 Annual Catalogue. There are so many amazing new products in there and this bundle is just one of many.

Happy Birthday Card

I started with Starry Sky Cardstock for the card base, layered with a strip of Orchid Oasis 2022-2024 In Color Designer Series Paper layered with Orchid Oasis Cardstock and Basic White Cardstock die-cut using the edge die from the Blossoming Happiness Dies.

The Happiness Abounds Stamp Set features beautiful line-art floral images which is perfect for heat embossing. Stamp the images in Versamark ink onto Shimmery White Cardstock, add White Stampin' Emboss Powder and heat set with the Heat Tool. The flowers and leaves have coordinating dies to make it easy to die-cut out your images.

Using a Water Painter, I've watercoloured the flowers using the following In Colors - Tahitian Tide, Orchid Oasis and Starry Sky. The leaves are in Parakeet Party. You can arrange the flowers in many ways into an elegant card, I really love the larger images and then I'll add a few of the smaller ones to my card, then followed with the leaves.

The stamp set features all-occasion sentiments for celebration I've used the Happy Birthday greeting in Orchid Oasis and fussy cut out. To finish off the card I've added 2022-2024 In Color Matte Decorative Dots and In Color 2022-2024 Baker's Twine in Orchid Oasis.

Friend Card

For my second card, I started with Tahitian Tide Cardstock then I added Basic White Cardstock panel and applied Tahitian Tide ink with the Blending Brush for a bright coloured background to make the flowers pop.

Again for the flowers I used Versamark ink and White Stampin' Emboss Powder for the stamped images and then heat set with the Heat Tool. This time I used Sweet Sorbet ink and watercoloured the flowers with the Water Painter. I was surprised with the lighter pink from Sweet Sorbet it's just so pretty. The leaves are in Parakeet Party.

I've used Tahitian Tide Baker's Twine before layering the flowers over the blue background and followed with the leaves. The sentiment is stamped in Tahitian Tide ink and fussy cut out. I added a few of the 2022-2024 In Color Matte Decorative Dots in Tahitian Tide.
