Simple Layouts

This week I chose to make two very simple layouts, found on pages 23-24 of our 2024-2025 Annual Catalog. They were fun to make and really easy to do.  Check out the video video to see exactly how they were made.  Below are the measurements for both cards.

PAPER

• Paper Strips:  Thoughtful Designs 12" X 12" Designer Series Paper, 1" X  4-1/2" Each
• Base Card and Layer:  Fresh Fresia
• 5-1/2 "X 8-1/2", scored at 4-1/4"
• 2-3/4 X 3-1/2"
• Inside Layer and Sentiment Layer: Basic White 
• 5-1/4" X 4"
• 2-1/2" X 3-1/4"

Packing Tape Technique

 I'm always looking for a variety of techniques to share with you and I recently learned of one through a team member.  All you need is some packing tape!  Yes, I said that right.  The affect is to make parts of your project shiny.  Like, if you had a stamp of a pail, you may want the metal to look shiny so you would stamp an image of the pail on some gray or silver paper, put the packing tape over it, cut it out and add it to your card!  It's really kind of cool how it looks.  I took some new products from our new 2024-2025 Annual catalog and put a fun card together.  take a look at my video to see how it's done.  Here is what you will need:

PAPER

• Sunny Springs Cards & Envelopes, page 19
• Fully Flowering Ephemera Pack, page 19
• Basic White Scrap for sentiment

 STAMPS

• Simply Said Stamp set, page 19

INK

• Whatever color you would like.  It should coordinate with the colors in your ephemera pack or card

ADHESIVES

• Stampin' Dimensionals
• Packing Tape

TOOLS

• Heartfelt Hexagon Punch (only found on-line)
• Paper Snips

Template #6

 This easy card came from Stamping with Amy K.  It's so quick to put together.  You will absolutely love the quick and easy approach!  I used a lot of products that will no longer be available in two days!  Get yours now before it's gone!

Here's what you will need:

PAPER

• Top Layer: Start with a 6" X 6" piece of Designer Series Paper
• Cut it down to 5-1/4" X 3"
• Also cut 1/2" X 5-1/4" of this paper to be used as a border for the inside
• Base Card:  4-1/4" X 11" of your choice of colored cardstock
• Inside Layer:  Basic White 5-1/4" X 4"
• Middle Layer:  Basic Black 4-1/8" X 5-3/8"

STAMPS

• Unbounded Love Photopolymer Stamp Set 

INK

• Use any color Ink Pad that you would prefer to use for your sentiment

EMBELLISHMENTS

• Basic Rhinestone Gems is what I used, the choice is up to you

ADHESIVES

• Multipurpose Liquid Glue
• Stampin Dimensionals

TOOLS

• Bone Folder

Glimmering, Shimmering Fun Fold

 This fun fold is so easy to do and it has a lot of sparkle to it!  Using the 2024-2026 In Color Cardstock, Glimmer Paper and Designer Series Paper, I was able to create a whole set of these vibrant cards.  This idea came from Equally Creative by Nicole. If you are interested in making these, you will find below a description of all the products and measurements needed.  Because these are new products that will be seen in our new Annual Catalog, I cannot offer you the option to purchase them at this time.  However, The first week of May they will be available to you.  For the time being, you can watch my video to see how this is put together. As it can be made with other paper.

PAPER

My projects were from all 2024-2026 In Colors Cardstock, Glimmer Specialty Paper and Designer Series Paper

• 4-1/2" X 11" Cardstock of your choice
• score at 2-1/2"
• turn the paper around and cut 3" off,
• Using Cardstock or DSP paper, cut these two sizes
• 4" X 5-1/4  for the inside layer
• 4" X 2-1/4 to place on the top of the folded piece
• Basic White piece of 2-1/2 " X 3-3/4" to place in the center of the inside layer
• Using the same color cardstock that your card base is made from 2-3/4" X 4"  
• Adhere to that cardstock piece a 2-1/2" X 3-3/4" of DSP 
• Don't forget to make your sentiment tag from any cardstock and punch or label you choose

Templates 4 & 5

 Today I am sharing a two-fer!  I am going to give you two templates that you can use to put into your repertoire of cards that you would like to create.  One I did in my sketch hop (the last entry shown on my blog) and the other is a new one, shared by one of my favorite demonstrators, Jackie Bolhuis.

Template #4

This one is so easy to put together, so easy, it's unbelievable just how beautiful it can become!  Just four little pieces and a sentiment.  

These are the measurements you need for this card:

• Card Base: 5-1/2" X 8-1/2", scored at 4-1/4" colored cardstock
• Outer Layer:
• (2) 2-5/8" X 2" Designer Series Paper
• (2) 2-5/8" X 2" Colored Cardstock
• Sentiment:  use a shaped punch or die-cut
• Inside Layer: 5-`/4" X 4" Basic White

Template #5

This card can be as easy, or as challenging as you wish to make it.  Regardless, it can be a beautiful card to give to someone else.  Here are the measurements needed for this card:

• Card Base: 5-1/2" X8-1/2" colored cardstock
• First Layer: 5-1/4" X 4" Designer Series Paper
• Second Layer: 2-5/8" X 4-3/4" colored cardstock
• Third Layer & Sentiment:
• 2-1/2" X 3-1/2" Basic White
• 2-1/2" X 1" Basic White
• Inside Layer: 5-1/4" X 4" Basic White
