I just love butterflies! They work for most occasions and just seem to fill me with joy whenever I create a card with them

Butterfly Brilliance

This stamp set can be found in the 2022-23 Annual Catalogue and is what it says on the label! Its one huge background image, which is perfect for creating impact with just one inking!

Butterfly Brilliance Watercolour thank you card

This is a similar card to one I made at a crafty get together and this was my take on the original floral design by Emma Goddard. I am so pleased with how it came out. so I decided you use it for my customer thank you cards and they really loved it!

The card is essentially a simple black and white card plus my ‘current’ favourite colour – Fresh Freesia as the pop of colour!

Do you change your favourite colour with the seasons or do you have a firm favourite?

The background has been made with watercolour card, Water Painters and some Fresh Freesia Classic Stampin’ Ink refill aka ‘Re-inker’.

You can see the list of instructions of how I made this card below

How to make Butterfly Brilliance Watercolour thank you card

  • Take the pieces of Watercolour card and add water using a Water Painter
  • Add some Fresh Freesia Re-Inker in a random again, using a Water Painter
  • Set aside to dry or use a heat tool to speed up the process
  • Once dry stamp the Butterfly Brilliance image onto each piece of card using a Stamparatus and some Jet Black Stazon ink TIP: line up the butterfly you wish to use for the main image in the Stamparatus so you have a whole image.
  • Fussy cut out the single image and set aside.
  • Add some splatters to the main watercolour layer with a Dark Basic Black Stampin Blend and a Wink of Stella.
  • Repeat the splattering on the single butterfly image
  • Once dry assemble the two layers onto the base card using Multipurpose Glue.
  • Attach a faux bow of the Fresh Freesia open weave Ribbon using some tear tape.
  • Cut the piece of Basic Black at a jaunty angle and attach to the card with glue
  • Add some silver Simply Elegant Twine to the back of the fussy cut butterfly
  • Attach to the card with a single Dimensional
  • Stamp the Sentiment in Tuxedo Memento Black ink and fussy cut out using snips
  • Finish with some Classic Matte Dots
  • Don’t forget to decorate the inside!
