Hello and welcome to our first Tech 4 Stampers Blog Hop. Never too old to learn something new! I’m so excited to be participating in this new adventure and I hope you like my card.
I chose the Wrapped Bouquet Bundle, Well Written Dies and Whimsy dies to make my card in a thick Very Vanilla card stock card base with an embossed Seaside Spray card front layer.
Card Front
To “frame” the aperture, I used the smallest rectangular Whimsy die which leaves a wavy stitched outline. The other dies in the set were too large, or too square, so my solution was to run the rectangular one through the die cutting machine twice in two different positions and then cut the centre out.
The window provided a view of embossed script using the Scripty 3D embossing folder. To make the script “pop”, I ran a Seaside Spray ink pad over the words.
The Seaside Spray layer was also embossed with the Subtles 3D embossing folder for added texture.
Water based fast drying archival dye inks are the recommended ink to use with alcohol markers. However, the stamp had a solid leaf image, and I didn’t want that to show up in black. I took a gamble and stamped the floral image in Pear Pizzazz then coloured the rest of the flowers with Stampin’ Blends in Seaside Spray, So Saffron and Petal Pink.
What drew me to this stamp set was the newspaper print wrapping. There is a die in the Wrapped Flowers dies set which cuts and scores the folds and I love it! You really DO wrap the flowers, and the folds are held down with glue dots. I tied a bow with linen thread to finish it off and of course, added the word “welcome” from Well Written dies.
Inside Card
I’d used rather a lot of “dimensionals” on the card front and the card kept toppling over! To counter balance the weight, I added an extra mat layer in Seaside Spray and another in Very Vanilla then stamped a floral image in Seaside Spray to complete the card.
