Color Blocking with Simply Succulent

It’s time for another STARS challenge! This week we are experimenting with the Color Blocking Technique.

Card 1 – Rococo Rose Base with a Purple Posy Layer

My tip for playing with this technique is to have fun and don’t get too excited about lining everything up to match perfectly. Because of the space left between the dies there is going to be missing areas between the blocks.

Card 2 – Soft Sea Foam Base with a Most Meadow Designer Series Paper Layer

First choose a large image or group together some smaller images. Next place the stamps onto a Stamparatus so that each time the image is stamped, it is in the exact same place. Stamp the image on 4 pieces of card stock of different colors. Next, use dies, to cut the images into 4 pieces. Tape the dies together using tape to hold the piece together in the same position and cut each of the 4 different colors of paper. Finally, mix and match the colors to create 4 cards, each with 4 different colors of paper.

Card 3 – Purple Posy Base

I’ve used the Stitched So Sweetly, Rectangle Stitched and Layering Square Dies to cut out the pieces and held them together with pieces of tape so that each time a set of blocks was cut they were all same. The sizes and shapes of the dies needed are going to depend on the image size and shape of the stamps that you choose.

Card 4 – Oh So Ombre DSP

I’ve used Rococo Rose, Mossy Meadow, Granny Apple and Soft Sea Foam card stock for the squares. Each card has a different colored card base and some have designer series paper as an additional layer.
