Poppies for Remembrance Card

by | Oct 29, 2020

Hello and welcome to October’s Stampin’ Creative Blog Hop. With November just a few short days away we have a theme of Remember. I chose to create something to reflect Remembrance day as I thought it would be nice to do something seen as the usual activities will be different in this strange year.

So here’s my Poppies for Remembrance card.

Remembrance card for November with 2020.

How to make a Remembrance Card with dies

Using the large poppy die from Poppy Moments Dies I created the white on white background. It can get a little fiddly to adhere the thinner parts, but so worth the effort in my opinion – don’t you think?
Once the background was created I wanted to create a contrast in the focus element so opted for a strong black banner.

These poppy dies make the perfect remembrance card

The poppies needed to be bright and bold, so I created a background wash on Shimmer Card using my ink pad, a block and the Stampin’ Spritzers. Then I stamped onto the background to create my 3 poppies with Stazon ink – this is needed due to the watercolour nature of the background.

Finished the remembrance card by stamping and die-cutting some leaves in Old Olive and sticking the focus elements to my black banner and a sentiment from Peaceful Moments stamp set.

These 2 poppy styled bundles are so versatile and gorgeous and really work well together … maybe something to add to your Christmas list!

So now it’s time to check out the rest of the Stampin’ Creative and see what fabulous projects they have to share.

Happy crafting and hasta luego,

Oh, Louise, I love the textural background that you’ve achieved here by using the white die-cut images to layer over the entire card. A wonderful way of combining texture to your white space. Beautiful card xx
