Kylie’s Demonstrator Training Blog Hop – January 2020 (Beautifully Braided)

by Kylie

Hi everyone and welcome to Kylie’s Stampin’ Up!® Demonstrator Training Monthly Team Blog Hop day!  Thanks so much for hopping with us.   We are a group of Stampin’ Up!® Demonstrators from around the world who are taking part in specialised training focusing on helping us grow a successful Stampin’ Up!® business.  We all really appreciate your support.

You may be starting here or have come from another blog – either way you can find the link list at the bottom of this post so that you can see every blog post and idea today.
Today I am sharing two cards using the Beautifully Braided stamp set.  I LOVE this set and cannot seem to put it down.
Here’s my first card…

Here’s my second card…

I love the watercolour look.  It’s so easy to create gorgeous pieces – and you don’t have to be too precise either!  The first colourway is Blueberry Bushel and the second is Old Olive but I think it would look amazing in just about any colour combination, or a mix of colours.

TIP:  To get coordinating ribbon, I simply dyed the Crinkled Seam Binding Ribbon with the appropriate colour!  So easy!

Here’s a list of all the participants:

Thanks for hopping with us.  It was so fun to take part and I know you are going to love all of the creations by the rest of the Demo’s participating!

Thanks so much for stopping by!  Hope you have a great day!

Happy Stamping, Kylie

Beautiful cards! The flowers were embossed, correct? How were they colored, please?

Reply
Kylie January 27, 2020 - 5:45 pm

Hi Deb, thanks so much! Yes, I embossed the flowers and then I coloured them with an aqua painter and ink from an inkpad. I tap some ink onto an acrylic block and pick up the colour with the Aqua Painter. Then I just painted what felt right. 🙂 Hope this helps! 🙂

do You have a video showing your technique. I lov3 these cards but don’t know how you did the top paper layer. Can you share? Thanks.

Reply
Kylie February 14, 2020 - 8:15 pm

Hi Terri, I don’t have a video at the moment but I’ll try and create one. It’s super easy. All you do is stamp and emboss the image repeatedly and then watercolour the panel. 🙂

Terri Kielhorn February 15, 2020 - 5:05 pm

thanks. Do you use special paper?

Reply
Kylie February 15, 2020 - 5:16 pm

Hi Terri, no it was just regular Whisper White. You do have to be careful with the amount of water you use as it isn’t watercolour paper but it still works really well. You inspired me to make a video so that will go live next Tuesday. 🙂
