Kylie’s Demonstrator Training Blog Hop August 2019

Hi! Welcome to Christy’s Stamping Spot. I’m Christy and I’m an Independent Stampin’ Up! Demonstrator from Arizona, USA. Today, I’m excited to be taking part in Kylie’s Demonstrator Training Blog Hop.

I was excited to use some of my favorite DSP with the upcoming 2019 Holiday Catalog Mini Curvy Keepsakes Box Dies for my swaps for my Glimmer Gals Team (My Upline – Karen Bouchikas’s Team) meeting tonight. We also celebrated Karen and Theresa‘s Birthdays – so I made them matching birthday cards.

I started with a Petal Pink cs card base. Cut a Magnolia Lane DSP panel and glue it to the card base. Die cut a square frame with the Heirloom Frames Dies from Petal Pink cs – save the Petal Pink cs center to stamp the sentiment – then dry emboss the frame with the square Heirloom 3D embossing folder. Use glue to adhere the embossed frame to the center of the card front.

* Great Tip from Patty Bennett – use a glue dot to stick the die cut centers when you use the Heirloom Frames Dies – I used Whisper White cs – in the Heirloom 3D embossing folders – creating a helpful template to quickly position your die cut frame to be embossed.

Stamp the sentiment on the Petal Pink cs center left over from when you made the frame in Memento Black ink. Die cut the sentiment out with the Ornate Frames Dies. Die cut out a Basic Black cs sentiment layer with the Ornate Frames Dies. Add a small amount of glue to the lower right corner of the embossed frame and then adhere the Basic Black cs sentiment layer. Use Stampin’ Dimensionals to adhere the stamped die cut sentiment label to the Basic Black cs sentiment layer. Add 3 Basic Pearl Jewels to the sentiment label.

Don’t forget to add a Whisper White cs inside panel to write your message. I added the sentiment and a strip of Magnolia Lane DSP to the inside panel and back of the card to pull the theme through.

To make the Mini Curvy Keepsake Box I cut down a piece of Magnolia Lane DSP to a 6″ x 6″ piece. Die cut out the box with the Mini Curvy Keepsakes Box Dies from the piece of Magnolia Lane DSP.

Punch out a circle from the Magnolia Lane DSP with the 1 1/2″ Circle punch for a tag. Use a hole punch to punch a hole at the top of the circle.

Stamp the sentiment from the Tiny Keepsakes Stamp Set in Memento Black ink on Petal Pink cs. Die cut out the sentiment with the Mini Curvy Keepsakes Box Dies. Add a Basic Pearl Jewel to the bottom of the stamped Petal Pink cs tag.

Cut a piece of Basic Black 3/8″ Scalloped Edge ribbon and thread it through both tags. To create the white thread ribbon to tie around the Basic Black ribbon – use paper snips to cut a piece of Whisper White Flax Ribbon and separate the strands to use it to make the bow. I filled my box with 3 Dove chocolate pieces.

I hope you enjoyed my birthday card and the 2019 Holiday Catalog sneak peek of the Mini Curvy Keepsakes Box with the Magnolia Lane DSP and Ornate Frames Dies.
