Memories of my Dad

Thanks for visiting my blog today.
I am part of a group of Stampin’ Up! Demonstrators from all around the world who are training together in Kylie Bertucci’s Demonstrator Support Program 2018-2019 to grow and improve our Stampin’ Up! Businesses.

Each month we join in a fun Blog Hop together, sharing our creations with each other and with many other people around the world.

Every so often Stampin’ Up! releases a stamp set that reminds me of my Dad and I find myself compelled to purchase them.
You see, my Daddy passed away in a tragic glider accident when I was just 6 years old, so I only have a few memories of him.
I don’t tell you this for sympathy or to invoke sadness, but to point out how certain things can mean so much sometimes and remind us of happy memories.

For me, the Inspiring Iris Stamp Set in the 2019-2020 Annual Catalogue invokes a very special memory of my Dad.
My Dad's favourite flowers were Carnations and Irises. I remember when I was little that my Mummy loved it when she received beautiful bunches of flowers from my Daddy.
So of course when I saw this Stamp Set, I knew I had to have it. It is one I will probably hang on to for a very long time.

For this project I CASED (copied and selectively edited) the sample card on page 111 of the  Annual Catalogue because it was just so gorgeous.

Below is the link to my Facebook Live video if you would like to see how I made this card. Creation time starts at 34:00 minutes on the video, so feel free to advance to there.

After the first card, I decided to make a few more using different sentiments.

I love the simple line art design of this Stamp set, which comes as a two step stamp set. This means that you get the image outline stamps, as well as the solid centre image to stamp in a colour of your choice. You could instead choose to colour the images with your own choice of colour medium such as Watercolour pencils, Stampin’ Blends, Stampin’ Write Markers, sponging, ink watercolouring etc. I love stamp sets that are so versatile.

I decorated the inside of each card as well, using the Pressed Petals Specialty Washi Tape and a stamped carnation.

For a full list of all products I have used in these cards, please see below.

Please go ahead now and check out the other blog posts of the wonderfully talented Demonstrators participating in this blog hop.
