Demonstrator Training Blog Hop July 2019

Hello, and welcome to July’s Demonstrator Training Blog Hop.  Welcome if you’ve reached me from another blog.  I’m Dianne (The Purple Rose Stamper) from the UK.  I hope you enjoy my blog and then please do hop along to the next one on this list.

This month’s project came about as I did not like the card that I had made for the blog.  While I was pondering on making an alternative I opened my new stash of goodies that had just arrived.  The Stitched Lace Dies caught my eye so I decided to cut one out and see what could be made with it.

I had no plan in mind so I just picked up the first piece of card to hand which was Grapefruit Grove sized 29cm x 9.5cm.   I placed the die at one end of the card and ran it through the Big Shot.  I decided to cover the die cut area entirely with clear embossing powder to make the card shine, but I picked up the white embossing powder in error so after sprinkling the powder I just ‘went with it’ and heat embossed.  The heat embossing curled the card a little so as it was cooling down I began to gently bend and fold the card in the opposite direction forming a cylinder shape which I realised was the perfect size for a battery tea light.

Before I fixed the cylinder in place I decorated a piece of whisper white card using the large stamp from A Little Lace and a sentiment from Varied Vases with Grapefruit Grove ink.

I secured the cylinder shape using double sided tape and then to create the base under the tea light I die cut a scalloped edge circle from Layering Circles Framelits and using the fine-tip glue pen carefully stuck it to the bottom of the cylinder.

Finally, I made a box for the 3d card using a sheet of paper from See A Silhouette DSP and a sheet of Petal Pink Vellum from the Perennial Essence pack.   Before I assembled the top of the box I used the edge die from the Stitched Lace Dies to create the delicate edge on all 4 sides and then white embossed the image on the top.

I’m really happy with the end results of both the 3d card and the box.  I hope you also enjoyed my project this month, and it would be great if you hopped along to the next Demonstrator on the list to see all the wonderful creations.
