Kylie’s Demonstrator Training Blog Hop April 2019

Hi! Welcome to Christy’s Stamping Spot. I’m Christy and I’m an Independent Stampin’ Up! Demonstrator from Arizona, USA. Today, I’m excited to be taking part in Kylie’s Demonstrator Training Blog Hop.

The 2017-2019 In Colors are retiring soon so I want to use them as often as I can. For this card I’m using Powder Pink and Berry Burst with Highland Heather. I made this card during today’s Facebook Live. You can watch the replay here.

Start with a Powder Pink cs card base. After I scored the card base I ran the top half through the Big Shot with the Subtle embossing folder – embossing only the front half. Cut the Berry Burst cs panel and the Highland Heather cs panel. Then dry emboss both panels with the Subtle embossing folder. Glue the embossed Highland Heather cs panel to the embossed Berry Burst panel.

Cut the Whisper White cs panel. Stamp the circle images from the Beauty Abounds stamp set in Powder Pink ink and Highland Heather ink on the Whisper White cs panel. Stamp the sentiment from the Butterfly Gala stamp set in Berry Burst ink on the bottom right of the Whisper White cs panel. Glue the stamped Whisper White cs panel on the Heather Highland cs/Berry Burst cs panels. Wrap Powder Pink Shimmer ribbon around the panels and then glue the panels to the card front. Then tie a bow with the ribbon and attach it to the center of the ribbon across the panels with glue dots (I also added a glue dot to adhere the wrapped ribbon to the card front).

Stamp butterflies on Whisper White cs in Berry Burst ink. I stamped 4 large butterflies and 4 small butterflies. Stamp the small inside wings image in Powder Pink ink on the small stamped butterfly. Stamp the top inside wing image of the big butterfly in Highland Heather ink on the stamped big butterfly. Stamp the bottom inside wing image in Powder Pink ink on the stamped big butterfly. Use the Butterfly Duet Punch to punch out the butterflies. Glue just 2 of the big butterflies together and all the small butterflies together so that there is a stamped image on both sides.

Use Wink of Stella to blend the colors and add sparkle. Curl the wings of the butterflies with a Bone Folder. On the big butterfly use a glue dot to adhere some Silver Metallic Thread loops to the bottom. Add another glue dot and attach it to the top left-hand corner of the card front. Use glue dots to adhere the small butterflies to the card front. Add Gingham Gala adhesive-backed sequins to the card front to finish the card.

Don’t forget to add a Whisper White cs panel on the inside of your card. I also glued the 2 extra stamped butterflies to the inside and back of the card to pull the theme through.

You can purchase everything to make this fun sparkly butterfly thank you card in my Online Store. Don’t forget to stock up on your favorite retiring 2017-2019 In Colors before they’re gone.

Thank you so much for stopping by. I hope you enjoyed my card. Please visit all the blogs participating in this hop to see all the fun and inspiring projects by demonstrators from around the world.  You are currently visiting Christy Gridley – USA at Christy’s Stamping Spot.
