You Donut Even Know

Here's my card for the current challenge at Global Design Project.  I used the sketch to create a super sweet birthday card with stamps and dies from Mama Elephant.

You Donut Even Know card-designed by Lori Tecler/Inking Aloud-stamps and dies from Mama Elephant
I colored up one of the donut stacks with Copic markers, then cut out the colored image with the matching die.  I used foam tape to adhere the image to a small white square that I matted with rose cardstock.  For the background, I covered a pale pink card base with a plaid cardstock panel in colors that coordinate with the colored image and a smaller solid orange cardstock strip.  The seam between the two pieces was hidden with a narrow strip of pink ribbon fished out of my scrap pile.  I added the matted image panel on top.  The sentiment strip was positioned just below the image.  For a little bit of sparkle, I dotted each of the candle flames in the image with a teeny, tiny bit of yellow Stickles--and even managed to not smear the glitter before it dried!

Materials Used:
Donut Treat stamp set, Donut Treat dies (Mama Elephant); Memento Tuxedo Black ink (Tsukineko/IMAGINE Crafts); markers (Copic); Pink Pirouette and Regal Rose cardstock (Stampin' Up!); Orange Fizz cardstock, Fishtail Flag STAX dies (My Favorite Things); Perfectly Plaid-Spring 6x6 paper pad (Lawn Fawn); Yellow Stickles (Ranger); foam tape
