Fun and creativity with the All My Love Designer Series Paper

Hello and welcome to my blog.  I'm super happy and proud to be writing this post today because I'm participating in Kylie's Demonstrator Training Blog Hop for February 2019 AND this is my 200th blog post.  It has taken a while to reach this number of posts, but I'm glad to have reached this milestone!

The star of the show today is Designer Series Paper (DSP). I love our double sided papers and their coordination with the coloured card and embellishments.  I am a bit of a collector so following Kylie's Love It Chop It lead feels good! Today, I have used the All My Love DSP but the ideas would work for other patterns too. The paper is double sided which immediately gives variety to the finished cards. To complete the cards I have predominantly used the All My Love suite with its coordinating stamps, dies, papers, and embellishments for my projects today, but I have also used a few of my go to favourites.

When you look at a gorgeous piece of 12" x 12" DSP it can be quite daunting to cut into it - do you find yourself thinking what if I make a mistake and waste it? Or I don't want to cut it, I want to keep it to look at and admire it. I am learning to change those thoughts to I can make pretty things that will pass on happy feeling to others AND I can always buy more paper!

What have I made? Firstly, I used 8" x 8" of the paper and the Envelope Punch Board to make a delightful little pocket. It is the perfect size to dress up a gift card, and I recently discovered that it is also the perfect vehicle to package up individually wrapped tea bags to make a thoughtful gift.

With the remaining pieces of DSP I made three traditional sized cards aswell as three notecards. I think its quite an impressive haul from one piece of paper.  I've repeatedly used the Wishing You a Lovely Day words because the sentiment is versatile and the font is simply beautiful.

From a single card front sized layer of DSP I made two cards featuring circles by die cutting a stitched circle hole from the centre of the paper. I also cut two scalloped circles - one to mount the pattern paper to and the other to hide the hole in the layer of paper.  I have plenty of Thank You stamps, but my go to one comes from the Abstract Impressions set.  It's bold and clear.

The flower embellishments are die cut from the Lovely Flowers set. The petals on the small flowers curl up a little, which was easy to do with the aid of the Take Your Pick tool. Place a flower on the palm of your hand and rub it in a circular motion with the scoring end of the tool. As you rotate the tool it stretches the paper and the petals curl up realistically. The putty end of the Take Your Pick tool makes picking up and placing the little flowers really easy and the Share What you Love Artisan pearls finish off the centres.

The Stampin' Up! notecards come in packs of twenty together with envelopes so they are quick and easy to use.

I stamped the single flower from the Forever Lovely set onto the front of the notecard to create a soft background for the paper.  The sentiment is from one of the Sale-A-Bration stamp sets, Part of My Story, and it is perfectly framed in one of the die cut Stitched Rectangles (this set of dies is fast becoming one of my favourites).

The other two notecards are exactly the same size as the white ones, but I have cut them from coloured card, one from Lovely Lipstick and the other from Soft Sea Foam. Can you see the layer of Lovely Lipstick foil? Its another Sale-A-Bration freebie!

I have used the Wishing You a Lovely Day sentiment again, but this time I have punched out the sentiment using the 2" circle punch and layered it onto a punched out Starburst circle. There are similar flowers and ribbons used on the all the cards and you can choose either circle dies or punches to cut out the sentiment, whichever you prefer.

I am happy to have chopped some of my DSP and I'm ready to do it all over again with a different patterned paper! Thank you so much for visiting my blog today. Here's to the next 200 blog posts!
