Stamping Sunday Blog Hop - Gingham Gala Suite

Hello lovelies, Welcome! today I am really thrilled to be part of Sara Levin's Stamping Sunday Blog Hop. For those who don't know me, my name is Sharni Haines and I'm from South Australia. You may have started here or just come from the lovely Denita

This January we are all presenting our own creations using the Gingham Gala Suite.

This is from the 2019 Occasions Catalogue and can also be matched with free products from the Sale-A-Bration Catalogue.

We will be showing a card design 3 ways: Beginner, Casual & the Avid Stamper.

I have seen so many gorgeous cards made with this suite that it is almost impossible to improve on them or to create something a little different! But I have tried to go out of the 'square' so to speak and instead, went rectangle! he he.

For your interest, this is the Gingham Gala DSP. It's 6x6" you get 40 sheets: 8 each of 5 double-sided designs. That's a lot of Gingham to play with!

BEGINNER STAMPER

I used the Balmy Blue Gingham for my card and I have made it 3 ways.

This is the first and quickest design, it's simple, clean and great for the Beginner Stamper.

I cut out a rectangle from the Gingham Gala DSP and another smaller one in Whisper White using the new Rectangular Stitched Framelits.

Then, using the Butterfly Duet Punch, I punched out one set of butterflies from the Whisper White Cardstock and glued the negative image onto the Gingham.

To make the butterflies that sit on top of the card, I stamped the image in Basic Grey Ink with the Butterfly Gala Stamp Set, coloured them in with Daffodil Delight & Balmy Blue ink using a dauber. I also gave them all a little curl with my Bone Folder.

They were adhered to the card with a dimensional to lift them up off the page.

The greeting was stamped in Basic Grey Ink and cut out with a Rectangular Stitched Framelit.

CASUAL STAMPER

Stepping the card up a little for the Casual Stamper, I added a Balmy Blue Cardstock Rectangle underneath the Gingham piece, a few more rectangles in Whisper White and another Butterfly. I also mounted the greeting on some Dimensionals.

AVID CRAFTER

My final card is intended for the Avid Crafter. I have kept all the new layers but sponged all the edges of the cardstock with Basic Grey to give more interest and depth to the card.

I have also added a little bit of Balmy Blue as a soft background behind the Butterflies using a dauber. The tiny spots were stamped with Basic Grey using the Wonderful Romance Stamp Set (also new).

You may be able to see a bit of glitter on the butterflies too.

As an extra to this card...I added a little Gingham frame around one of the butterflies.

I cut out a piece of Gingham Gala DSP with two of the Rectangular Stitched Framelits.

Then sponged around the edges with Basic Grey.

I then cut the rectangle so I could reduce its size to fit nicely around the small butterfly.

The frame was mounted on dimensionals and stuck around the butterfly.

For those who love to scrapbook, I have also created a double page using the same products and techniques as my cards. I sponged the whole outside edges of the 12x12" Whisper White Cardstock with Basic Grey and also all the edges on every bit of paper that I stuck down.

I did add some extra stamping to the pages, they are from Beauty Abounds stamp set. This set is also new and I feel compliments the Butterfly Suite.

The inks I used to stamp with were the same colours as my cards, Basic Grey & Balmy Blue. The tiny blue dots are Clear Epoxy Droplets that I coloured in with a Balmy Blue Blend then stuck onto the paper.

I think this was one of the fastest and easiest set of pages I have done in a long while. I am yet to journal the pages...we always save the best till last don't we?
