We’ve read A Puff of Silk by Kathleen Shoop – and here are our thoughts

Our Thoughts

This was a quick read – it’s a novella so it’s only 158 pages – but it is a great intro to what could be a new, fun series by Author Kathleen Shoop.
Amelia has had her entire life crash & burn – her reputation, her career, her love life & her home have all been taken from her, just because of one dress. Well, when that dress happens to be on a very popular socialite who is known by all, it’s no wonder everything crumbles like the dress she designed. She runs home to lick her wounds and recover what she can. She is quickly thrust into a chance that could change her life back to the way it was. With help from her Gram, she realizes that her life is not over; and that family can help us get through anything.

This is a quick read – and if you are like me and have not read a book by Kathleen Shoop then it will give you a peek into her writing style. he writes a heroine that is strong, determined, and independent; the kind of character that most of us women aspire to be like. This book focuses on the relationship between the heroine & her grandmother; I loved following these two as they reconnected after so long apart. Also, the author hints at a potential suitor for Amelia but it is not the forefront of the story. I can’t wait to see what else comes to be for Amelia & Gram – and their boutique. Overall I give it 4 stars!
