Remember the game Six Degrees of Kevin Bacon? I bet there’s a similar phenomenon with Sally Field if we took the time to figure it up. Field’s 50+ year star-studded career shines with her sparkling charm. Her memoir In Pieces allows the rest of us to peek inside her story.
From the first pages, I was drawn in. Field’s early memory of her 8th grade play performance ended with a cherished compliment from her mother. “You were magical.” Those words were the spark that lit a fire!
The book spans Sally Field’s life as an actress, but truly focuses on her experiences as a daughter and mother. The chapters are so intimately written that it’s almost like reading a letter from a friend. She’s just as endearing in her book as she is in movies. I would love to hear the audiobook version of In Pieces, as Sally narrates it herself!
This book’s dust jacket is just wonderfully done. I love the image of today’s Sally looking back on the young, vulnerable Sally. In the end, when the day is done, we all need to reflect on who we are — and how far we’ve come.

She has been in the business for so long- I am sure she has some great stories and life advice. She has always seemed down-to-Earth AND she was in my favorite movie, Steel Magnolias. I’m hoping she talks about that.
