All wrapped up for Autumn

Get wrapped up for Autumn with a simple and stylish coverup poncho or cape.

The Seasons are changing and the cold mornings will start creeping up quickly. But you don't need to change your daily 'uniform' dramatically you just need a coverup with flexibility!

No doubt our lifestyles are changing and many of us might not even have the need for a heavy winter coat this year. But in and out of cars, shops or the occasional office visit means we're probably over heated or over chilled!

What we need is a simple, practical and inexpensive solution.

Wrapped up for Autumn - what do you need?

Whether you're in jeans or the smartest of suits a warm wrap or cape will simply and quickly get you wrapped up for Autumn without compromising your existing outfit. This is a far more elegant option than trying to fit everything under a structured coat.

Depending on your mode of travel and the severity of your Winter you can choose between a simple lightweight poncho/blanket wrap or something a little heavier.

The most important thing to be aware of is that whether you're shopping, doing the school run or on your way to the office, it's essential that your arms are free for bags, briefcase, shopping or children!

If your Winter draws in quickly...

I've looked at two different weights, both come with the highest recommendations from where else but Amazon! Easy to buy, easy to return if it's not to your taste.

Blanket wraps will certainly keep you wrapped up for Autumn but they can be difficult to keep in place. This clever little number (below left) has a button fastening on the shoulder to hold it firmly in place so it drapes elegantly whatever you're wearing. Excellent warmth without adding bulk, it will make a great addition to your travel wardrobe doubling up as a blanket!

My second choice (right) is a warm and roomy cloak, satin lined throughout with a hood and 3 horn buckles to close. In a soft and weighty wool blend, it will easily cover a jacket or an oversized sweater. Neat fastenings at the neck and a drawstring on the hood will keep out the chills. It comes in navy, black, camel or khaki.

Sudden changes of temperature can be quite over-whelming for many of us. So the ability to whisk your warm layer on and off at will is a joy!
