You Rule

You Rule card-designed by Lori Tecler/Inking Aloud-stamps and dies from Reverse Confetti
School started here this week and I'm still working on getting back to school cards to my teacher friends to wish them a great school year!  This one is based on the current challenge from Global Design Project.

I used the layout's largest panel to create a chalkboard style piece.  The "you rule" sentiment from the Reverse Confetti Worm Wishes set was stamped near the bottom of a gray panel in white pigment ink, then heat embossed in white.  To go with the sentiment, I stamped three of the set's school-related images and colored them with Copic markers, then cut the images out with the matching dies.  I arranged them above the sentiment, using foam tape to adhere the apple.  I added a wide yellow fishtail flag strip, cut with a die from RC's Tag Me die set to the top of the panel, securing it with a staple to go with the card's school theme.  After matting the panel on cream cardstock, I adhered it to a patterned paper panel over a coordinating yellow cardstock strip.  The patterned panel was adhered to a yellow card base to tie all of the elements together.

Materials Used:
Worm Wishes stamp set, Worm Wishes and Tag Me dies (Reverse Confetti); Memento Tuxedo Black and Memento Luxe Wedding Dress inks (Tsukineko/IMAGINE Crafts); markers (Copic); Lemon Drop and Steel Grey cardstock (My Favorite Things); Report Card 8x8 paper pad (October Afternoon); Snow embossing powder (Recollections); cream twine (Hemptique); stapler; foam tape
