Summer School: Day 3

MFT Stamps: Visual Triangle

Tuesday, August 21, 2018

Hello! I am back today with another Session (Day 3) of MFT Stamps Summer School. Today's lesson was titled Visual Triangle.
I created a Halloween card and used Bats for my Visual Triangle. I began my card by making my night sky. I applied Distress Oxide Ink directly onto my glass mat. I spritzed the ink with water and layed my paper directly onto the wet ink. I kept moving my paper around and spritzing with water until I got the desired colors.
I love how easy it is to work on the Glass Mat by Tim Holtz (Tonic Studios). You can put your ink directly onto the glass, and it wipes clean with no effort! Once I was finished I did add a little bit of Distress Ink in Black to darken my background up a bit. While this was drying I splattered some black ink onto my card panel.
Next, I did all my stamping and die cutting. I cut a black frame and popped it up with foam adhesive over the inked background. I stamped my sentiment and added a few other colored strips behind it so it would stand out.  I then attached my Jack O' Lantern and Bats (along with the rest of my elements) to the card front. Everything was attached with foam adhesive to add some depth.
