*Time Out Challenges #260*

I hope everyone had fun playing along with our challenge in conjunction with the team at Just Us Girls  last time.  We were so excited to see SO MANY entries and it was so hard to choose our favourites!

We are back with our next challenge at Time Out... a challenge of one of my favourite things!

I LOVE playing with stripes in my creations.  I use them a lot!  For my card today, I cut stripes out of coloured cardstock in one size using aPink Fresh Studio die.. and then I used a smaller die from the same set to create some black stripes as well.  I put those thinner black stripes in between the coloured stripes to give me good spacing and to make it all look "even".  I really like how the colours just pop on the black base!

*Cardstock: Stampin' Up! Basic Black, Poppy Parade, Mango Melody, Granny Apple Green, Pacific Point, Gorgeous Grape, Daffodil Delight
*Dies:  Pink Fresh Studio Slim Strips; Picket Fence Studio Hello

*Christmas Craft Creations March 2024*

I'm back with the reminder team at Christmas Craft Creations to share my design team card for the March challenge.  Our theme this month is "designer paper".

I have a LOT of Christmas patterned paper... I mean, a LOT!  I wanted to use as much patterned paper as I could on my card so I have almost a full (6x6) piece along with a coordinating strip.  I'm sure I could have figured out a way to use more...

*Paper Players #682*

I'm playing along with the current sketch over at The Paper Players...  I had a lot of ideas in my head for the sketch but decided to play with this idea in the end.  I have a friend who needs a big hug these days, so this will be in the mail right away.

To create my window panels, I started with a square piece of white cardstock and I stamped and coloured my peony on it.  I then cut that square in to quarters and used my Perfect Layers Tool to make a 1/16" mat on each of the small squares.  To help me get it all lined up, I put those panels on to white cardstock and cut each of them again with the Perfect Layers Tool.  I was then able to place the square evenly by just butting them up to each other.

*Freshly Made Skethes #628*

The sun is finally shining in Calgary today after having had snow for the last 4 days or so.  The only nice thing about spring snow is that you know it will all be gone soon... but we'll probably have another dump of snow (or maybe two) before we can declare it's finally over.  The joys of living at a higher elevation.

My card today makes me think of a sunny sky...

*{BYSHC} Sketch #43 Take 2*

I'm back with my second card using the fabulous March sketch at Build Your Stash Holiday Card Makers...  another great reason to use up some of my stash of Christmas papers!

I do struggle with using so much patterned paper on a card... first it's not at all clean and simple (which is truly pleasing to my eye) but I used SO MUCH of my favourite paper pack on this one card LOL!

*Profranity Warning!!!*

Just a warning that the card you are about to see uses the F-word... no need to comment about what you think about someone else using that word... you don't want to see it, don't look. But you'll be missing a really cute card LOL!

I am participating in a National Humour Day Instagram Hop today... and my first thought was to use some of the new Sassypants Stamps I bought...  they have some wonderfully inappropriate (and funny in my mind) stamps and dies.  When I saw this stamp, it did make me laugh out loud!

If you want to see some more cards in this hop, head over to my Instagram to find the list of participants!

I made it "pretty" with a bunch of beautiful flowers... that makes the swearing OK, right?  I know that this card isn't for everyone... so it will go to a friend who shares my appreciation for all of the four-letter words.

Card Info
*Cardstock:  Stampin' Up! So Saffron, Granny Apple Green, Flirty Flamingo, Fresh Freesia

*CAS Colours & Sketches #533*

It's time for a new sketch challenge at CAS Colours and Sketches... So many options for this sketch!

I had a lot of ideas for this one... but chose to use some items from my bin of extras.  These dies cut out several images at one time so in cutting different colours of pots and plants, I had a lot of extras!

Card Info
*Cardstock:  Concord & 9th Briar Rose, Juniper, Lemongrass, Avocado; Stampin Up! Basic Black

*Ink:  Versafine Clair Nocturne

*Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge #569*

It's time for a great new sketch at Atlantic Hearts...

I've been having a lot of fun with this new Paper Rose paper pack...  this time I took the scraps from the fussy cutting of the floral swag and used them for my card.  The papers are double sided and while that floral wreath that I cut up was the whole reason I bought the paper package, the back sides are all pretty fabulous too!

*Ink:  Versafine Clair Nocturne
*Dies:  Hero Arts Infinity Hearts; The Ton Easy Expressions

*Addicted to CAS #254*

It's time for a new challenge with Addicted to CAS... a perfect one as we head in to spring!

Floral cards are NOT a problem for me... I love to create with beautiful blooms!  For my card today, I did something a little different.  I purchased a 6x6 paper pack a few weeks ago and some of the designs just won't work on a card... unless you get creative.  I took one of the pages and cut out a portion of a rainbow floral wreath and used it with an oval frame to create my card.  As I was busy cutting this out, I was taken back to my childhood... I remember my Mom, sitting at the dining room table, doing Paper Tole... she'd purchase these packages of images where there were different elements with different layers to cut and then she'd use some sort of dimensional adhesive (silicon maybe?) to layer up the different parts of the image to create a 3D piece... and then she got them framed in deep frames to show off all of that dimension.  My Mom LOVED her Xacto knife!  I do not LOL!

*CAS on Friday #275*

Happy Friday, creative friends!  It's time for an EASTER themed challenge over at CAS on Friday!  It's so hard to believe that Easter is only a few weeks away... it's SO early this year!

I honestly didn't have any truly Easter themed stuff in my stash so I had to go shopping ... and I found these great bunny dies.  I cut them out of my white panel and layered the patterned paper behind them.  For my sentiment, I found one in my stash that says "happy days are here again" and didn't stamp the "a" in happy... and hand wrote the letter "o" in the spot that was left...

*AAA Colourful #2*

I hope you enjoyed playing along with the first ever challenge at AAA Colourful!  We are back each month on the 15th with a new inspiration for you...

Don't you just love those deep and delicious colours in the colour board for this month?!   You don't need to use all of those colours... just something that inspires you from the photo.

I did use many of the colours from the inspiration board... and had fun with some multi-step stamping!  To create the perfect coloured mat, I dragged the Flirty Fuchsia ink pad along the edges of a piece of white cardstock.  And to get the two tones on each images, I used the second generation to get the lighter colour.

*Time Out Challenges #259*

We have a fun and special addition to our challenge at Time Out Challenges this week... for challenge #259, we are partnering up with Just Us Girls!  This means that you can play along with EITHER challenge (or both) and your card will eligible to win on both blogs!  The Linky Tool on each challenge will link your card up to both challenges.

Here is our challenge graphic for our current challenge...

As always, we allow for interpretation of our themes...  so we can see birds, feathers, nests....  but something that is inspired by "birds of a feather".

I am NOT a fan of birds (I had an incident with one in the house when I was a child and I've been kinda afraid of them since)... but I had some great feather dies that I thought would work.  I did some ink blending and cut them out...  and then used a friendship sentiment that makes me think of the words "birds of a feather"...

Card Info
*Ink:  Tim Holtz Distress Inks in Twisted Citron and Salty Ocean
*Dies:  Picket Fence Feather Dies
*Etc:  Pink Fres Studio Foiled Sentiments

*You Bring a Smile to My Face*

I am so happy that so many companies are now doing pretty sentiment stamps with matching dies...  I love to be able to cut out a sentiment in something other than a simple banner...  these stamps from Honey Bee are fabulous (even if a few of them aren't to my taste, the majority of them are awesome!)

My card today is using the current sketch over at Just Add Ink... and I managed to use up four pieces that were in my "bin of extras".  The only thing that wasn't in there was my die cut sentiment!

*Two Challenges, One CAS Card*

I'm playing along with two challenges today...  the current sketch at Freshly Made Sketches and the colour combination at Color Hues.  I absolutely love this colour combination so I knew I had to play with it... and when I saw the sketch, this technique popped in to my head (but then it took me a while to remember how to do it!)

*CAS Colours & Sketches #532*

It's time for the first challenge of the month with CAS Colours & Sketches... and it's a colour challenge.

I never would have thought to put these colours together... but I love how they look!  The lighter blue just balances out the other two deep, rich colours.  So pretty!

I decided to go pretty super clean and simple with my card using these colours.
