Lugz, Hip Hop, and Yo! MTV Raps with Giveaway ends 8/29

Lugz came on the scene in October of 1993, with the initial products – two styles of boots, a quilted vest and a pair of jeans. Shortly after Lugz became a sought-after brand in the world of hip-hop with the introduction of the first ever celebrity endorsed urban driving shoe. The history of Lugz is the history of Hip Hop from Birdman, to Kid Capri to Snoop Dogg it’s all there in their timeline.  Here are just a few entries from the Lugz Timeline to bring back some great memories.

In 1994 Erick Sermon became the first endorser for the new Lugz brand.

In 1995, members of the Def Squad, Redman and Keith Murray stepped forward to present the Fall 95 Lugz collection.

In 1996, from Yo! MTV Raps, the hilarious and talented team of Ed Lover and Doctor Dre’ repping Lugz. I remember watching this with my mom when I was young.

Rap music has grown to be the biggest and most popular genre of music today, and a lot of this is due to Yo! MTV Raps. If you don’t now then you need to watch this.

Stüssy x Yo! MTV Raps – Part 1 – The Importance of Yo! MTV Raps from Stüssy on Vimeo.

My mom, Eclectic Evelyn, was so excited to be able to introduce me to Lugz and the history connected with them.  Being a child of the 90’s and a teen of the 00’s, I was more into the alternative, grunge, goth kind of style.

I was so glad to see that they had some boots that looked like my combat boots from the  90’s. Big plus, they were also steel toed and slip resistant so I could wear them to work.  So I picked out the Drifters to review.

How cute are these?

I love Lugs they are comfortable for work and play! I wear them everywhere they are slip-resistant, water-proof and have deep treads for great traction. They literally go with anything. You can pair these boots with jeans and a tee or a formal dress and it will look super stylish and be comfortable. They are heavy so they give your legs a great work out too. Wear a tutu, crop top, big hair and lots of make-up for a retro 80s look.  If you want that 90’s look, pair these with baggy jeans a white tank top and a flannel shirt tied around your waist! These shoes are perfect in any era for women or men!

Tip: I usually get men’s boots because my feet are wide like my mothers and men’s sizes tend to be wider.

So thanks to
