Stampin’ Creative Blog Hop – Masculine Healing Hugs Get Well Card

By | July 28, 2018

It’s the last Saturday of the month, so it must be the Stampin’ Creative Blog Hop.  As we’re all busy ladies during the summer – and three of the team are off seeing the sights in. Alaska – we thought we would make it easy on ourselves with an ‘Anything Goes’ theme.  With no restrictions I really can’t wait to see what we have all come up with this month.  I needed a Get Well Soon card for a male, so I challenged myself to make a Masculine Healing Hugs Get Well card – let me know if you think I succeeded. It is a fairly feminine stamp set as you can see by this card I recently created. So I wondered, if by simply changing the colours I could make it more manly.  What do you think? I’ve used a colour palette of Very Vanilla, Crumb Cake and Basic Black.  The DSP I chose to use comes from the fabulous Share What You Love Suite which had an early launch way back in May of this year.

Tips and Tricks for my Healing Hugs Masculine Get Well card

  • I cut my DSP piece at an angle for some visual interest.  It is a layout I’m quite fond of as you can see with this recent video tutorial
  • As black is not commonly associated with Get Well cards, I used a very thin layer just for some definition.
  • Isn’t the effect of our new distinctive stamps amazing? I’ve used an ink pad that is neither too wet or too dry in order to have the best stamped image possible. It’s hard to believe the image was created with a rubber stamp!

Do hop around the rest of the team and if you have time do leave us a comment as we love to hear from you.

As always, I have included a list of the products I used on todays card.  By joining Stampin’ Up and my team of Aces and Diamonds, you can choose £130 of Stampin’ UP! products of your choice for £99 before July 31st and receive a free ink pad family of your choice – would the neutrals family be your choice??

Stunning card Eimear. I would never have thought that rose could be used for a masculine card but you’ve nailed it. xx
