Stampin’ Up! Blended Seasons for the Ink It! Stamp It! Design Team Blog Hop

Welcome to the Ink it! Stamp it! Blog Hop!  This is a group of amazing stampers so be sure to hop through the full line up below so that you can see all of the projects!  This month we are focusing on techniques and I’ve used the Blended Seasons stamp set and featured heat embossing and Brusho Crystal Colour.

If you’re one of my blog followers…you know that I do clean and simple cards and don’t do a lot of technique based projects.  So this one was a bit of a challenge for me!  I stuck to my clean and simple roots and didn’t do anything too complex.  🙂  I started by stamping the wheat image from the Blended Seasons stamp set (available August 1) multiple times across a panel of watercolor paper in VersaMark ink.  I heat embossed the images with White Stampin’ Emboss Powder.

I let the image cool completely and then wet the entire paper with an Aqua Painter and just water.  I sprinkled a little of the Yellow Brusho Crystal Colour over the embossed area and then used my Aqua Painter to move the color around.  I added a little more of the crystals over the embossed image and then let the paper dry completely.  I inked the wheat image from the Blended Seasons stamp set in Soft Suede ink, stamped it on scrap paper twice and then stamped it over the embossed area.  I repeated that process with Blackberry Bliss ink and then wiped the excess from the embossed image with a paper towel.

I stamped the sentiment from the Blended Seasons stamp set in Blackberry Bliss ink on the water color paper and then adhered the panel to a panel of Blackberry Bliss card stock with Multipurpose Liquid Glue.  I wrapped a strand of Linen Thread around the panel three times and tied a bow, then adhered the panel to a Soft Suede card base with Stampin’ Dimensionals.  I added three Metallic Pearls to finish the card front.

I inked and stamped off the wheat image from the Blended Seasons stamp set, as described above, in Soft Suede and Blackberry Bliss inks on a panel of Whisper White card stock on the inside of the card.

Thank you so much for joining us today. We hope you’ll join us again next month to see our technique based projects. I’m Amy Koenders and to keep hopping around see the list below to see who is up next.

  1. Love your card, clean & simple, my kind of project. The Color Your Season bundle, coming Aug. 1st. is a definite keeper!
    Hope you are enjoying Alaska!

  2. Oops, you’ve done it again…pushed me over the edge when I thought my feet were firmly stuck in ice on this one. The “wheat” got to me…see what I did there? Ha! It’s on my order that is going in today and I may have even found the “expedite” button on my laptop. You’re such a good leader. I know you’re having fun right now!

    • Hahahaha! I knew that we’d get you to cave…and if you expedited, then you really are coming over to the dark side. 😉

  3. Now my Brushos will definately be coming out to have a play with take on the Emboss resist technique. Your yellow background looks really clean with no dark dots – I’ve been trying to perfect this!

    • Thanks Sue! Just make a mess and let it dry and see what you get…they’re so fun and so easy! 🙂
