MFT"s Summer School Day 5

Happy Friday friends! Hope you are all having a great day! I have so enjoyed this week of summer school over at My Favorite Things. Today I am sharing with you the card that I made for their last day. The topic of this session was symmetry.

To start my card, I cut piece of bristol cardstock to 4 1/4" by 5 1/2". I used Wilted Violet Distress Ink to ink the whole entire panel. I then used a Distress Sprayer and sprayed a light mist on the panel to give it a nice distressed look. While I waited on this panel to dry, I did my die-cutting. I used the Magical Mandala die and cut two of them from black cardstock. I used my Tim Holtz guillotine trimmer to cut one of the die cuts into four equal pieces. I placed the whole Magical Mandala die cut piece in the center of the panel. Then I added the four smaller pieces to the corners, making sure to keep them turned the same way so that they would stay symmetrical. After they were all adhered, I trimmed off any of the die cut that was hanging over the edge of my panel. Once that was done, I spritzed the whole panel with Tsukineko Sheer Sparkle Shimmer Spritz to give it a nice, shimmery sparkle.

Next, I stamped the sentiment on white cardstock using Versafine Onyx Black Ink. I embossed it with WOW Neutral Ultra Shimmer Embossing Glitter. I wanted this card to have all the sparkle I could get on it. The sentiment I used was from the You Give Me Butterflies stamp set. I trimmed it using the guillotine trimmer. I adhered the background panel to a white side-folding A2 card base. Lastly, I foam mounted the sentiment in the center of the card.

I really appreciate you coming by to visit today. I hope that you have enjoyed summer school as much as I have! For more details about Day 5 please click here. I hope that you all enjoy your weekend! I hope you'll come back and see me soon!
