MFT's Summer School Day 3

Happy 4th of July friends! I hope that everyone is having a wonderful day celebrating this special day for our country. Thank you to everyone who has served our great nation and has played a part in making it what it is today. I will forever be thankful to you all.

Today I wanted to share with you the card that I created as my homework for day 3 of MFT's summer school. Day 3 was all about repetition. So for my card I decided that I wanted to repeat an image on my background. After looking through my MFT collection, I saw the arrow die in the Blueprints 13 die set. I don't know about you, but I have always liked arrows. So I thought that this would be the perfect element to repeat on my card.

To start my card, I looked through my cardstock and picked the colors that I felt like were bright and cheerful. I started with the lime green cardstock and cut it to 4 1/4" by 5 1/2". I layered it on the front of a side folding A2 white card base. Next I used both the large and small arrows from Blueprints 13 and die cut them several times from two shades of pink cardstock. I adhered the largest arrows right next to each other, alternating their directions, to a piece of white cardstock that had been trimmed to 4" by 5 1/4".  I made sure to keep them to the left side of the piece so I could add my sentiment.

I cut out the bold YOU sentiment from black cardstock using the You Trio Dies. I put the white cardstock piece with the large arrows into my MISTI. I used the die cut letters as a guide to line up the coordinating sentiment stamp. I used a sentiment from the All About You stamp set.  I removed the die cut letters and stamped the sentiment using a green ink that matched the green cardstock base panel. Once that had been stamped, I adhered it to the green base panel. I then added a few of the small arrows beside the larger arrows at the top and bottom. Lastly, I foam mounted the die cut letters right above the stamped sentiment. With that, my card was completed.

I really appreciate you taking time to stop by today. Click here to check out the Summer School Day 3 blog post from MFT. I hope that you all have a safe and blessed Independence Day!
