MFT's Summer School Day 2

Hey everybody! Today I have another card to share with you that I created for the MFT's day 2 of Summer School. I have to tell you, I am really loving summer school! It's so nice to me to be given specifics to follow. (I love having rules, nerdy I know!) Today's lesson was using primary colors.

This card was a bit challenging for me as far as just using these colors. Normally I tend to gravitate more toward bright and bold colors; but, in the end, I think that this is one of my most favorite card creations of all time. I absolutely love it! It just screams summer to me. 

To make this card I die cut the Snow Drifts Cover Up from some plain white card stock. I also cut it three more times from some red, yellow, and blue cardstock that I had in my collection. I picked out my favorite shades of these colors that I had. After I had it die cut, I adhered the white outside frame of the die onto the front of a top folding A2 card base. Next I just placed the pieces from the three different colors into the openings made by the die. I made sure to keep my colors in order and keep that order repeating from top to bottom. After I had in-laid all the pieces my background was complete.

For the sentiment of the card I cut the letters Y and U from the same red and blue cardstock using the bold YOU die from the You Trio Dies set. For the letter O, I used the Sunny Skies Die and cut it from the same yellow cardstock as before. I adhered them with foam tape onto the center of my card. Next, I stamped my sentiment from the All About You stamp set onto a white cardstock strip with some red ink to match the red paper. I then put that under my sunny you letters and my card was completed.
