Hello! Its time for another challenge at the Seize the Birthday challenge blog, and this time, the cake doesn’t have any toppings! That’s right, its time for an Anything Goes challenge!
For my DT card… or rather.. I wasn’t thinking of STB when I was making this card.. I was thinking of my Ma, and if she would like it, since it was for her birthday!! 😉
I used the images from Altnew Peony Bouquet. Simple stamping, nothing special. Once I was done stamping the images, I used another stamp set to add the tiny black dots/circles – Simon Says Stamp Sketch Ranunculus. I also added more dots using some metallic gel pens.
While stamping, I made sure to leave some white space where I would eventually add the sentiment.
For the sentiment, I die cut several pieces using Altenew Bold Alphabet dies. For the topmost layer, before removing the pieces, I masked off a portion of the cardstock, blended in the same lightest ink I had used for the flowers. After removing the mask, I used a gold gel pen to add a single straight line, right at the edge of the blending. Finally, I stacked all the pieces, then adhered it on the cardbase. The stamped portion of the sentiment is from Winnie & Walter The Big, the Bold and Happy stamp set.
I have some cardstock which seemed too thin to me to make cards from. I instead used them for my envelope. I used the same stamps, and dies, this time choosing colors which are closer to the color of the envelope. This made the envelope a lot closer to the design of the card. 🙂
I know for sure that my Ma liked the card, since her birthday is long over! And I hope you liked it too!
With this card, I am joining the following challenges –
The Flower Challenge #21: One from the Previous Challenge (I chose Challenge #11: Focus on Background Stamping)
