05.26.18…I’ve got to admit, I’ve been really good these last few weeks, as far as using up most of my extra pieces of Designer Series Paper…before it all retires at the end of this month.
On that “note”, I couldn’t resist one more opportunity to use my last few pieces of Tutti-Frutti Designer Series Paper. And…what a better way to use them than creating a card for the Global Design Project (#GDP139). So…I grabbed my Wood Words stamp set (…one of my favs), and got started!
Using my Crumb Cake Classic Stampin’ Pad, I used the “mini stars” stamp from the Wood Words stamp set to create a background pattern. I then used the same stamp pad, along with a small piece of a Stampin’ Sponge, to add some shading to the Crumb Cake card base (as well as the other elements on the card). After adding two pieces of Tutti-Frutti Designer Series Paper, I added a bow (using two strands of Linen Thread). Using the Layering Ovals and Stitched Shape Framelits, I die cut a oval and a scalloped oval, layered them together, then popped them up with a few Stampin’ Dimensionals.
I stamped the rooster three times (in Night of Navy, Real Red, and Lemon Lime Twist), die cut them using the Wood Crate Framelits, and popped them up as well. “Farmers Market” was stamped on Crumb Cake Cardstock, and die cut using the Stitched Shapes Framelits. After stamping “A Note for You”, I speckled it with a bit of Crumb Cake ink. For my last little bit of detail, I added a piece of Night of Navy Gingham Ribbon, a Rhinestone Basic Jewel, and the every-so-popular Tutti-Frutti Adhesive-Backed Sequins. Bring on the barnyard!
TIP: Cut several of your unused Stampin’ Sponges into 6-8 individual wedges, and designate each one for a different color of ink. Keep them handy in a small plastic container so you can just “grab-n-go”!
