Flowers for #tgifc160 & #GDP139

I do love entering into design challenges because they really help with inspiration and broaden my creative thinking. Tonight I’m entering this card into two challenges: TGIF 160 Inspiration Challenge – All About Wood and Global Design Project 139 Theme Challenge – Just A Note.

The wood theme from TGIF make me immediately think of the Tree Rings Background Stamp and I really wanted to combine it with the Beautiful Bouquet Bundle because I have recently added this wonderful bundle to my collection. Just a side note (pun intended) this stamp set and framelits will be in the new 2018-2019 Annual catalogue but you won’t be able to purchase it as a bundle with a 10%, so if its on your wish list, I highly recommend you take advantage of getting it at a discount before 1st June 2018.

I took the Global Design Project theme of Just A Note very broadly. Since I’m yet to see my mother in law for Mother’s Day I still had this in mind and thought it would be nice to make the card for her. She loves flowers and this would be a perfect fit!

To create this card:

1. Prepare card base in Crumb Cake.
2. Prepare cardstock for the card front. Whisper White 90mm x 133.5mm and Crumb Cake 85mm x 128.5mm
3. Stamp in Chocolate Chip the Tree Rings Stamp onto the card front Crumb Cake card stock.
4. On a scrap piece of Whisper White:
   1. Stamp the medium jar from Jar Of Love Stamp Set in Tuxedo Black .
   2. Stamp the For You from the Beautiful Bouquet Stamp Set in Rich Razzleberry.
   3. Stamp the Banner image from Thoughtful Banners in Crumb Cake and then add your choice of sentiment or as I have created my own using the Make A Difference Stamp Set in Rich Razzleberry.
   4. Using the Big Shot, cut out the jar using the appropriate die from the Everyday Jars Framelits Die and using the tag die from the Bouquet Bunch Framelits.
   5. Using the Duet Banner Punch, punch out the banner with sentiment.
5. On a piece of White Vellum rub with the embossing buddy and stamp in Versamark the same jar as above. Sprinkle the White Stampin’ Embossing Powder. Set the powder with the Heat Tool.
6. On the back of the Vellum jar using the Pool Party Dark Stampin’ Blend colour in to make the jar to appear to have water in it.
7. Using the Bouquet Bunch Framelits and the Big Shot cut out the small flower bunches in various colours, I used Rich Razzleberry, So Saffron, Grapefruit Grove (NEW colour) and Petal Pink (NEW colour!!). Cut out the stems from Pear Pizzaz card stock.
8. To assemble the card:
   1. Adhere the Crumb Cake card front to the Whisper White and attach to card base using Stampin’ Dimensionals.
   2. Take the Whisper White jar and attach the stems of the flowers on top on an angle with a Glue Dot.
   3. Place on top of the Whisper White jar the White Vellum jar. You can add a Glue Dot to were the jar lid would be to attach them to each other.
   4. Add some Whisper White Polka Dot Tulle to the jar top. Adhere it by putting two Glue Dots on the back.
   5. Tie some Silver Baker’s Twine to the For You tag and attach it to the top of the jar using a Glue Dot.
   6. Tie a small Tulle bow and attach to the jar right over where the Glue Dot that is holding the For You tag.
9. Attach the jar to the card front using adhesive of your choice.
10. Add the flowers to the stems using Glue Dots.
11. Adhere the banner above the flowers.
12. Decorate with the Share What You Love Artisan Pearls (my flowers coordinate in colour with these pearls).

The effort in making this card is well worth it. I think it’s a beautiful card that is perfect to give to anyone whom you would like to know that you are thinking of them. The Tree Ring background really gives the card a back to nature look that goes well with flowers.
