Snowmen Votives

A few posts back I mentioned that I sold somethings at the Woven Holiday Mingle & Market.  Well My Crazy-Haired Husband came across some cute little snowmen projects a few months ago and decided he wanted to try to make a few of them, and I suggested that if he wanted maybe he could make a few extra to try and sell either to friends and family, on Facebook or the Holiday Market.  So after “acquiring” some wooden objects he set off to the garage and here is one of those projects.

Aren’t these faces cute???

That is one wooden block with 4 different faces and a place on top for a tea light candle.

We got the idea for them here on etsy.com via Pinterest, only difference is that Daniel decided to put different faces on all four sides.

This is what we used to make these smiling frozen faces.

First he cut and smoothed down a wooden fence post.

Trying our best to buy as little as possible we painted the blocks with a small can of white paint we had sitting around from some past projects.  It took 2 or 3 coats to get a good coverage.

Then with an orange acrylic paint pen he drew a carrot nose and between the two of use we took turns painting on the eyes and mouth.  Daniel had better control with a paint brush but I seemed to make a big ole mess so I resorted to using a black acrylic paint pen.

Unfortunately we didn’t sell to many but we will keep trying.  If interested we are selling them for $5 a block and that includes the candle, lol.

Here is a good look at just a few more of the blocks that we made.  I have to admit I have a few that are my personal favorites.

And if these blocks aren’t enough to grab you here is a picture of some of the other snowmen items we made and are selling; wooden spoons and tealights that you can either use as a magnet or hang on your tree and yes the noses do light up.
