Stampin’ Up! Heartfelt Blooms Sneak Peek Thank You card

Happy day-before-Christmas-Eve, y’all!  Time is growing short, so I hope you’ve got everything done that needs doing!

I know I’ve already shown you a card using today’s Sale-A-Bration stamp set – Heartfelt Blooms – but I just had to use it again.  This time I paired it up with some Bundle of Love Specialty DSP from the Annual Catalog to make a soft and pretty thank you card!  Take a look-see:

The layout is from this week’s Global Design Project.

I started by Fast Fuse-ing a piece of the Blushing Bride paper from the Bundle of Love Specialty DSP to a piece of Very Vanilla card stock for the card front.

The vertical strip is a piece of Crumb Cake card stock that I embossed in one of the Petal Pair TIEFs (available 3 Jan in the Occasions catalog).  I added some “stitches” with my Crumb Cake Stampin’ Write Marker and then adhered it with Liquid Glue.

I wrapped some Very Vanilla Soild Baker’s Twine around the panel a couple of times, securing it in the back with scotch tape.  Then I tied a bow around both strands.

For the art panel, I stamped the Heartfelt Blooms image (available free with a $50 purchase starting 3 Jan) in Crumb Cake on Very Vanilla, and cut it out with the largest circle Stitched Shapes Framelits die.

Using my Blender Pen, I ever so lightly colored the flowers with Powder Pink (picking the ink up from the lid of the pad), the leaves in Pear Pizzazz and the middles in Daffodil Delight.  I matted the circle on a scalloped circle of Very Vanilla, that I’d cut with my Circles Layering Framelits.  Then I popped it on the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

For my sentiment, I cut a strip of Very Vanilla and, using my Stamp-A-Ma-Jig, stamped the Heartfelt Blooms sentiment in Crumb Cake.  I snipped banner ends and edged it with the Crumb Cake Stampin’ Write Marker, then adhered it with Liquid Glue and a Stampin’ Dimensional under the right end.  And that was it for the card front!

On the inside, I stamped the Heartfelt Blooms image again in Crumb Cake on a piece of Very Vanilla and colored it with my Blender Pen.  Then I matted it on another piece of the Bundle of Love Specialty DSP.

I Fast Fuse’d the matted panel on a Very Vanilla mat and into my Powder Pink card base,  popped the card front on with Stampin’ Dimensionals and the card was done.

On the front of my Very Vanilla Medium Envelope, I added another Crumb Cake Heartfelt Blooms image – colored similarly to the card front and inner liner…

… and then added some more of the Bundle of Love Specialty DSP to the envelope flap.

Et Voila!  It’s hard to keep from going back to this Heartfelt Blooms stamp set, folks – it’s just one of the most spectacular images I’ve ever seen!  I can’t wait for you to be able to get it for yourself – for FREE! – starting 3 Jan!  Hope you like!

Finn Fan Fix

Want to know my favorite day of the week?

Okay – I can’t hear your answer so I’m just going to tell you.

It’s the day Sonya comes to clean the house.

We spend a little bit in the morning picking up all the little bits of flotsam and jetsam that accumulates during the week.  And then…like an angel with a mop and an odd enjoyment of cleaning houses – Sonya sweeps in and sets it all to rights.

A few hours later, as her car drives away for 7 days, I bask in the delight of a clean house.  In those fleeting moments before the flotsam escapes and the jetsam begins to build again.

That’s why that’s my favorite day.

It’s also pretty high on Finn’s list.

For an entirely different reason (no – he cares not about the cleanliness of the house!).

Nope.  Sonya – who cleans many houses with four-legged dog people living in them – brings treats!

Now – we all know that, abused and neglected as he is, Finn gets no treats whatsoever on any other day of the week!  So – he’s pretty danged happy to see her.

Today, he met her in the living room and politely accepted her offered treat.

And excused himself to partake.

Miss Sonya brings the very bestest bones!

  1. It’s gotta be a winner 🙂 I am thinking of CASEing this for an anniversary card. I doubt that I can color it as beautifully as you did, but I’ll give it a try. I’m so glad I got that stamp. Have a great weekend. (I can see you are set up for your shares!)

  2. Mary, this card is GORGEOUS! You’ve given me new motivation with that set 🙂 Merry Christmas to you guys and Finn!

  3. Once again, a truly beautiful card! I LOVE this one. Not my usual style, or it wouldn’t be if I had a style, but I really, really love this one. Great colors, and your coloring of the stamp is superb! I think I need a Sonya!

  4. Absolutely stunning! Love the soft colors and the pretty design. Great use of that awesome stamp set! 🙂

  5. Kate

    SO pretty in pink.
And I think the Finn just LOVES Miss Sonya, and treats are simply a happy bonus. Case in point: Clara is happy to see everyone and nary a treat passes her lips. Petting is the ticket. 🙂

    • Oh – I’m pretty sure he LOVES her. He’s definitely a lover-kind-of-guy! He also really really loves her happy bonuses! Thanks, Mom! 🙂
