Your favorite chocolate treat made HEALTHY and seasonal! These protein brownies are infused with the best flavor of fall…pumpkin spice! They’re vegan, gluten-free, grain-free, and high in plant-based protein, too!
Oops…I did it again!
(name that 90s song and artist!)
I made a GIGI APPROVED RECIPE!
You may remember a few months back my friend and fellow blogger, Gigi of Gigi Eats Celebrities, teamed up to bring you a recipe and a video.
The challenge? To create a recipe using GREEN BANANA FLOUR that was also Gigi-approved. What does “Gigi-approved” mean again? Well I’ll remind you!
Due to health needs, Gigi eats a diet that is…
nut-free
sugar-free
dairy-free
grain-free
gluten-free
But that doesn’t mean it’s TASTE free! We all know she’s obsessed with salmon, an avocado aficionado, and a coconut butter connoisseur. But she also likes the occasional sweet treat as well. As long as it fits all the above criteria, of course.
Anyways, last time I came up with Savory Banana Flour Breakfast Bread! It got rave reviews from Gi and everyone else who made it. Who knew a paleo bread could be so tasty (oh wait…ME!)?
But this time, since it’s fall and the holidays are coming, I thought a sweet treat would be fun to create! My inspiration? Gigi and I’s favorite plant-based protein powder, Nuzest.
It’s one of the few baking ingredients we both use and LOVE, so I knew basing my recipe on it would make it perfect for everyone to enjoy. So what was I in the mood to make?
Muffins? Nah, just made a festive fall variety!
Cupcakes? Been there done that in the fall!
Then it hit me…BROWNIES. It’s been months since I’ve made a true brownie recipe and even though I already have come on the blog, you can never have enough brownies! Right!?
So with fall, Gigi, and BROWNIES on the brain…I created the best ever PUMPKIN SPICE PROTEIN BROWNIES!
PrintPumpkin Spice Protein Brownies
- Prep Time: 5 mins
- Cook Time: 30 mins
- Total Time: 35 mins
- Yield: 8 brownies 1x
- Category: Sweet Snacks
Ingredients
- 1 cup pumpkin puree
- 1/2 cup Nuzest Chocolate or Vanilla Protein
- 1/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1 tsp pumpkin spice
- 1–2 tbsp NuNaturals Pumpkin Spice Stevia Syrup (add 3-4 if you like sweeter baked goods)
- ½ cup non-dairy milk of choice
Instructions
- Mix all ingredients until a thick dough-like batter forms (it will be super thick like play-dough)
- Line a small dish or bread loaf pan with parchment paper and transfer batter evenly into pan.
- Bake at 350 F for 30 minutes and allow to cool completely before slicing.
These fudgy bites of yum are gluten-free, vegan, grain-free, and SUGAR-FREE! You’ll love the combination of rich chocolate and cozy pumpkin spice flavor.
But don’t take my word for it…see Gigi’s reaction LIVE on video!
