A Quick One!

Hi bloggies!

By the time you read this … I will be away for the weekend. I did want to leave a “little something” for you … to keep you going over the weekend! So … this will just be a quick one! This card is for the latest “Hand Stamped Sentiments” Challenge #83 … which was to create a CLEAN & SIMPLE card. I decided to take the image that was given as a starting point for my inspiration … and I used some of the colours I could see in the image.

I sooo love this sail boat … there is something about it … that makes it so easy to make a WOW card. The detail is just divine. For the record … I was NOT covering an “ooops” with the Soft Suede card piece. This was actually a “take” on an OLD Clean & Simple sketch (FTL106) … and was part of the sketch!!! 😉

This was my 2nd attempt for this challenge … because my first one didn’t end up being quite so “Clean & Simple” … and so I will post that sometime soon in another post. Sneak peek –> I am reasonably happy with this CAS card … although … I do feel it is a little “unbalanced” and I wish I had sponged the SS card piece???? But … I am happy because there is a little bit of brain work happening … so that is a good sign! 😉 😀 Hugs xxaxx

I love the sentiment treatment – the flourish over two colors is fabulous (and it didn’t even occur to me that you were covering an oops!)

I hope your weekend away has been wonderful!
Andrea adds: LOL … giggle … it is just the sort of thing I do!!! But … for once this was perfectly clean! Thanks for popping by again! I have missed seeing your gorgeous creations … but intend to rectify that tomorrow. Hugs xxaxx

  5. You’re funny, I like that you were honest that you used your 2nd attempt. (I used my 2nd attempt, too) Hee hee!! This is a great card and I really like the way you accented the flourish. Great color combo, too. Nice and masculine…..something I need to do more of. 🙂 Thank you for joining us at Hand Stamped Sentiments.
Andrea adds: Thanks for letting me know that you smiled at my post! It is wonderful to know that there are some who read my rabbitings! 😀 I loved playing … and will be back again. Hugs xxaxx

  6. Andrea, I really like that you used the colors in the photo to leap off from. I think it’s a great card. It’s masculine with the sailboat image but the flourish definitely softens it up. I love the flourish on the soft suede that flows over to the WW. I can’t wait to see your other card as well. Thank you for joining us at Hand Stamped Sentiments this week.
Andrea adds: They were great colours … and I love all the white. Partly why I went for my 2nd attempt … because it had much more white than my first! Thanks for noticing all the detail! Hugs xxaxx

Great card. Perfect for a guy. Love the colors and how clever of you to add the soft suede rectangle and stamp over it. Great idea. Thanks for joining us this week at Hand Stamped Sentiments.

You are right about this stamp being great for a male card – it makes a very peaceful scene.
I’m seeing some new toys in the sample snapshot on your 1st attempt – can’t wait till it is revealed!
    Thanks for sharing,
    Gabbi
Andrea adds: Thanks for reminding me … I totally forgot about that one! Must share it soon! Hugs xxaxx

  9. Another lovely card, you sure are on a roll! Lovely colours and masculine. Good to see you having some stamping time. I’ve got to go and make 4 cards now, maybe next week I’ll get time to blog. This work thing really takes up way too much time 😉
Andrea adds: If only we didn’t have bills to pay and stamps to buy … then we wouldn’t have to work!!! 😀 Imagine how much time you would have then!!! Do you have a rich uncle somewhere??? Hugs xxaxx

Love the sentiment on the vellum and the way you’ve stamped the flourish over the RR and card base. Just joins it all together!
