Stampin’ Up! Seasonal Lantern for Fab Friday

I used the Stampin’ Up! Seasonal Lantern stamp set bundle to create my card for the Fab Friday color challenge this week.

Here are the colors for Fab Friday 122.  Hope that you’ll stop by the Fab Friday Challenge Blog and play along too!

The design for my card was inspired by The Paper Players #363.

I started by embossing a panel of Tranquil Tide card stock with the Pinewood Planks Embossing Folder.  I adhered the embossed panel to the front of a Tranquil Tide card base with Multipurpose Liquid Glue.  I stamped the branch image from the Seasonal Lantern photopolymer stamp set in Rich Razzleberry ink on a panel of Rich Razzleberry card stock.  I adhered the stamped panel to a slightly larger panel of Rich Razzleberry card stock and then to the card front with Multipurpose Liquid Glue.

I inked the solid images of the small lantern, leaves from the branches and gourd in Rich Razzleberry, Tranquil Tide and Cajun Craze inks, stamped them on scrap paper and then stamped them on a panel of Very Vanilla card stock.  I stamped the outline images in full strength in the same colors over the stamped off images, then cut everything out with the coordinating Lantern Builder Framelits Dies.  I stamped the gourd image twice (used the stamped off method described above) in Cajun Craze ink and the little dot image (stamped off) twice in Tranquil Tide ink inside the die cut lantern.

I adhered the two branch die cuts to the back of the lantern die cut with Glue Dots, then adhered the lantern to a panel of Very Vanilla card stock with more Glue Dots.  I added the single die cut gourd with a Stampin’ Dimensional inside the lantern, then adhered the Very Vanilla panel to a Rich Razzleberry card stock panel and to the card front with Multipurpose Liquid Glue.  I pulled a strand of Jute Twine apart and tied a bow with one of the pieces.  I adhered the bow with a Glue Dot to the top of the lantern and then added three Rhinestone Basic Jewels to it.

I stamped the sentiment from the Lemon Zest stamp set in Tranquil Tide ink on a panel of Very Vanilla card stock and I cut it out with one of the Bunch of Banners Framelits Dies.  I adhered the banner to the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

I stamped the sentiment from the Birthday Delivery photopolymer stamp set in Tranquil Tide ink and the gourd images from the Seasonal Lantern stamp set in Cajun Craze ink on a panel of Very Vanilla card stock inside the card.

You can see a list of supplies, including card stock cuts, for this project at the very bottom of this post.

  1. Amy, the little piece of twine on top of your lantern is the perfect finishing touch. I love the colors on your card and how you carried the leaves from the background to the front of the card. So glad you joined us at the Paper Players this week
