Global Design Project #104

This week, the Global Design Project is all about CASEing a project created by Allison Okamitsu.

Follow the link above to check out what Allison created (or scroll to the bottom of this post where I have attached a photo), and then read on to see what I put together.

The card base is a standard A6 size in the colour So Saffron. The background is created by repetitively stamping ‘So Sweet of You’, a stamp from the now retired ‘Hello There’ set by Stampin’ Up. Ideally I would have stamped this in So Saffron to match the background for a more subtle look, but I didn’t have that ink colour so I used Daffodil Delight instead.

I punched out a 2.5″ circle, and used a stamp from the ‘Nice and Easy Notes’ set, this set is also retired but I love it. See more of what I have done with it here. I coloured it in using alcohol markers, and then sponged some daffodil delight around the edges to tie it in.

I struggled with the flowers in the bottom corner. It needed something but because I had used alcohol markers and not ink on the ‘Thank You’ part I found it hard to match a colour. I tried a few contrasting colours and wasn’t happy, so in the end I coloured a block of colour using the same blue alcohol marker that I had coloured the pot with, and then punched out some flowers. I marked the centre of the flower with a faceted embellishment to give it some more definition.

Leave me a comment and let me know what you think of my entry, and if you want to play along also, follow this link to go to the competition page.
