Okay!  I got one Christmas card done this week.  When I looked at my Christmas stamps, my eye caught my Hero Arts Holiday Florals Prints Stamp.  This stamp is huge – 6 x 6 inches.  I bought it last year, but didn’t have time to use it.  So it was about time.  In my mind, I’ve decided to make a card with every Christmas stamp set in my collection.  We’ll see.

• Hero Arts Holiday Florals Bold Prints Background Stamp
• MISTI Stamping Tool
• 80# Neenah Crest Solar White Cardstock
• VersaMark Clear Sticky Ink
• Recollections Gold Embossing Powder
• heat gun

Trim gold embossed paper to 3.75 x 5.0 inches.  Find a background paper that co-ordinates with the gold embossed floral print.  This is what I used: 

• Bazzill Kraft Foil Gold Paper 6×6 pad 

Trim the background paper to 4.25 x 5.50 inches to fit on an A2 size card front. 

While you are cutting paper, trim cardstock for the card base.  I like top-folding cards, but it is just as good with a side-folding card if that’s what you prefer.

• 110# Neenah Crest Solar White Cardstock, cut to 4.25 x 11 inches
• Martha Stewart Score Board with Bone Folder – Score at 5.5 inches with bone folder, then fold and press down with bone folder. 

Adhere panels and card base.

• Scrapbook Adhesives E-Z Runner Tape

Set this aside.

Stamp pear.  I am sorry that I don’t know where I purchased this stamp online.  I bought this before I started doing a blog with tutorials.  It was a small company.  This is a quality rubber stamp.  The stamp is 2.5 inches long.  To make a similar card, I think any pear about this size would do.

Stamp two pears – one for the pear to color and the second pear to glue on the back of the colored pear.

• pear stamp
• MISTI Stamping Tool or acrylic block
• Strathmore Bristol Paper (best paper to use when coloring with Zig markers)
• VersaMark Clear Sticky Ink
• Recollections Gold Embossing Powder
• heat gun

Color only 1 pear using Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers.

• craft sheet
• Tim Holtz Water Brush
• lemon yellow and flesh color mixed with tiny amount of water
• light pink (for the blush)
• olive green
• mid brown – Color the stem, then go around the pear and leaves.  Lightly, go over the shadow lines on the pear.  On the leaf, make a stem line and veins.
• Memento Black Marker – Go around the edge of the pear and leaf.

Cut out both pears.  Trim the uncolored pear a little smaller than the colored pear.

• Cutter Bee Scissors

Die cut 3 pine boughs, 1 bow and 1 red berry.  Color these with Zig markers.

• Newtons Nook Designs Pines and Holly Die Set
• 80# Neenah Crest Solar White Cardstock
• olive green Zig marker – pink boughs
• carmine red Zig marker – bow and berry

Let these dry.  If they get moisture on them, the color will come off.

Dab Gold Stickles on the tips of the pine boughs, the bow and the holly berry.  Let this dry completely.

Glue the pieces to the card front.

NOTE:  To glue the components on the card front, I tried using Elmer’s Spray Adhesive.  I was happy to be able to use this, so my Zig colors would not bleed onto my card front as I positioned the pieces.  HOWEVER, after setting under a stack of acrylic blocks for an hour, the pieces were not attached all over.  CONCLUSION:  Elmer’s Spray Adhesive won’t stick to gold embossed cardstock.

• Ranger Multi Medium Matt Glue
• acrylic blocks or something flat and heavy

After you position your components, cut off the bottom of the uncolored pear , so the colored pear will fit snug when glued on top of the pine boughs.  Glue the cut off pear to the back of the colored pear.

NOTE:  When using liquid glue, be careful not to move the pieces around too much or the Zig colors will smear onto your embossed panel.  Yikes!

Glue the holly berry on the center of the red bow so it looks like a knot.  Lay acrylics blocks on the pieces while they dry.

I needed to do this card in a hurry, so I didn’t take the time to snap photos along the way.  It’s plain to see what was done anyway.  Thanks for stopping by.  Now ON TO THE NEXT CHRISTMAS CARD!!!
