I read and listened to this retelling of "Emma". I know many people don't like the Austen Project and this is the first I've read. I only read it because I love the author, so I found it fun and delightful. It had Austen's wit layered with McCall Smith's trademark satirical wit and I just thought it was fun. I am aware that sometimes I'm more tolerant when listening than reading, but I found the listening and the reading equally fun. I just enjoyed it and it reminded me why I like the original.
