Wet summer Sunday

Hi Everybody!

Hope you are all enjoying your weekend!

Today I am sharing a a floral tag made from recycled cardboard.
I cut it into a long heart shape, painted it white, and
embossed it with one of my new stencils and smooth
molding paste, before colouring it with peacock
feathers distress oxide ink. I added another of the
temple leaves and textile flowers from Prima that I
used on the little canvas I showed yesterday. The leaf
was also painted with the hologram paint. I added a feather
and some ribbons. I am linking to Simon Monday challenge, distress it,
and to Eclectic Ellapu, summer colours

Then I imported the tag into my digital programme and made it
part of a journal page for Elizabeth's summertime love theme

Today I have some photos taken on my balcony or near here, we will
be visiting the botanical gardens again tomorrow:

In the evening, when the sun goes down, the last rays of the sun
creep over the roof and light up the tops of the trees here,
always a wonderful sight:

My lupins enjoyed the rain:

My flowers are flourishing and look rather wild, as I like them:

Have a great day, take care,
and thanks a lot for coming by!

  1. Your heart tag is out of this world. I love the cool blue colors that you have chosen and the holographic foil that gives the leaf such a glittery sheen. The Prima flower is one I've never seen before and simply adore it. To add it to a digital journal page is wonderful, too. That really made me smile. The sentiment is certainly summery, and thanks for sharing it with Art Journal Journey.

Your flowers are beautiful on your patio. The sunflower has a real summery charm. The town seems to have gotten back to pre-Tour de France look, with the streets and shops gearing up for the rest of summer. Hope your day is going GREAT, too.

  2. Hi Val, I just LOVE your heart, in all variations, and it was a clever idea to use it for a journal page - 2 birds with one stone, huh? The colours are really summery, just lovely. The photos are wonderful, I always love seeing what's on your balcony and the ships are so relaxing to watch, I know you love being at the Rhine. See you this evening! Hugs, Sarah

  17. Hi Valerie, I just love the heart-shaped floral tag; the colours are so pretty.
Your photographs are also really pretty especially the ones with the sunflower and the trees. The colours and shapes of both just go so well together.
Lupins won’t grow in our garden, I’ve tried lots of times, but they obviously don’t like the soil. My mum grew them when I was a girl, and I always feel nostalgic when I see them.
Have a lovely week, hugs Barbara

    1. Didn't mean to post just yet my fingers are ahead of my brain again today :) All around us had rain on the weekend but it passed us over so me and the yet to be named water sprinkler spent a lot of time together as I moved it around the yard. It's supposed to be an extremely hot week here so I'll be spending lots of time indoors. I don't do well when it's 100° F out there!!!!! Maybe I"ll get to that art ♥
