Eclectic Easel Card

The Global Design Project is an amazing website where stampers can join in on challenges! I was excited to see this color challenge! I’m so in love with the color combo! Berry Burst is one of my top favorite colors right now! Pool Party is always on my list and Lemon Lime Twist is growing on me!

I created an easel card with the new Natually Eclectic Designer Series Paper! I’m so in love with the paper pack!!! It has beautiful bright colors that make for easy cards that have a punch!

IMG_3312Here’s a close up of the card  I used Wink of Stella on just parts of the designer series paper. It really adds so much to the over all Card, especially in person.

The die cut squares are from the Stitched Shapes Framelit set. It comes with a variety of sizes in squares, circles, and ovals. The stitching detail adds so much more that a regular die cut shape. I use them all the time now!!

The sentiment I used comes from one of my favorite stamp sets from the new Annual catalog. It’s called You’re Priceless! I love it because it has diamonds. My team name for my downline is “Diamonds in the Rough”. So the stamp set fits perfect. Even the Natually Eclectic designer series paper has a design with diamonds on it!

I used Berry Burst card stock for the card base. To make an easel card you cut and score the card base like normal. I fold the card, then I take one side and fold it to the center fold line. You’ll then need a card size front to add to that fold. Then cut the Naturally Eclectic designer series paper to 4 x 5 1-4 inches. I wet it a little then scrunched it up. Mine ripped a little so I went with it and added staples. I love adding staples to cards, makes me feel like a rebel!! 😝

I added a watercolor wash to the white small square and let dry before adding my sentiment. Then I added some Wink of Stella. I glued down the Lemon Lime Twist die cut square then wrapped some Pool Party Bakers Twine and tied into a bow. Added the sentiment square with some Stampin’ Dimensionals.  My final touches to a card are usually rhinestones to add some bling!!

The inside of the card I added a layer of white cardstock. For an easel card to stand up you need to add some kind of dimension on the inside just under half way. I decided to add a sentiment from the Mixed Drinks stamp set.
