Saturday .. chatter

Hi there

Hope your Saturday is coming along well. I've had a very sociable week this week with several meetings with friends, a day out playing tourist (and a cream tea) - very nice. Next week may feel like a bit of an anti climax though! Still, mustn't grumble, I'm pretty SURE I can find something to do!

I'm STILL making ATC's like I don't know how to do anything else!

My ATC
Materials used:
  • ATC blank
  • Snippets of card in both navy and white
  • Viva Las Vegas image (from plate #921) stamped on to the white snippet using Memento tuxedo black ink
  • Image coloured using Faber Castell polychromos pencils
  • Background coloured using Marvy le plume alcohol marker B711
  • Kaisercraft (from the edges set) border stamped using Ranger Archival violet ink
  • Paper Artsy sentiments (from eclectic plate #3) stamped using Memento tuxedo black ink
  • White Tsukineko gelly roll gel pen used to doodle a border on to the navy layer

I'll be entering the above ATC for the following challenges:-
  1. The House that stamps built - challenge No. 2817 - ANYTHING GOES
  2. Colour Crazy - challenge No. 26 - ANYTHING GOES
  3. Brown Sugar - challenge No. 257 - ANYTHING GOES
Actually managed a CARD today, I seem to be stuck making ATC's this week so it made a nice change ..

My card

The front, back and inside of my card, along with the front and back of my envelope

Materials used:
  • White C6/A2, 250gsm, card and matching envelope
  • Two pieces of card (one white, one navy) cut to 14.2cm x 10cm
  • One piece of white card cut to 13.7cm x 9.5cm
  • Low tack tape used to mask off a triangle ... this shape was chosen to reflect the wedge shapes (albeit the wedges are blue but ... I plead artistic license!) within the Union flag of the UK along with it's colours of red, white and blue .. see below
  • Distress Ink in candied apple applied using a Tim Holtz mini blending tool
  • Creative Expressions splatter (Inspired Edges set) and Paper Artsy (JOFY14 set) stamped using Memento Paris dusk ink
  • Paper Artsy (JOFY14 set) stamped using Versafine satin red ink
  • A quick spritz with Crafters Companion spray and shine to protect the water based distress ink
I'll be entering the above for the following challenges:
  1. Simply Less Is More - challenge No. 335 - COUNTRY FLAG COLOURS
  2. That's Crafty - June 23rd challenge - KEEP IT SIMPLE
  3. Through The Purple Haze - challenge No. 128 - SPOTS and/or STRIPES
  4. Craftbubble 2½ (membership required) - 3rd Quarterly challenge - USE WARM COLOURS
  5. Kraftin' Kimmie - July 01st challenge - RED, WHITE and BLUE

Nothing wrong with making ATC's; you can trade them! But your card is a strong one; love the bold background!
(I have been in a bit of a no-card-making mood because I have enough of them at the moment...have to try and sell a bunch of them at the end of the month :) )
Hope you have a relaxing and good week!

Lovely and vibrant, Kathy, and I love that you interpreted the wedge shape from the flag onto your card. Genius idea.
