Follow the Clues step #36: from Ring to Ring

Major Gregory Keen, British agent, is sent after a missing atomic scientist who has disappeared somewhere southeast of Singapore. Two other agents had also been killed after being sent after the scientist, so Keen attempts to stay undercover. This does not succeed for long as one of Keen’s British contacts seems to be a double agent. Keen also has to determine whether the scientist is a traitor or has been abducted.

This is a good, action-filled cold war spy story that pre-dates most of the similar espionage novels that were so common in the 1960s.  The setting is not named here, but seems to be Australia, for lack of other ethnic groups. Lindsay Hardy was an Australian and seems to have written more for television than for publication, which is a shame as I would gladly read more adventures of Gregory Keen.
